What did he say?

Just there on sky sports, he was asked if we have a chance of 4th. He said absolutely, that we are right in the mix as arsenal have city at the weekend and still have to come to goodison. Himself and neville said that we are playing great football again and look very dangerous. They were creaming over gerry!

Wouldn't agree that it's a very outside chance at all.

A six point gap is likely to become a three point gap after the weekend, according to the bookmakers odds for both games. We have a game in hand against Palace which again, we will be odds on to win. That would leave us level on points with Arsenal to come to Goodison. Win that game and we're 3 ahead.

We certainly have a more difficult run in, but the results tonight have made it far more likely than you're saying.

Agree with the bolded... but why the hell do the odds matter? If odds made things a certainty the bookies wouldn't be in business!

Honest question mate, can you see us doing it? Go on, imagine us not bottling a single game, turning up to every one, no dodgy decisions, no injurys, as well as Arsenal not scraping any extra points. If that seems possible to you, dare to dream.

You've changed your tune!

I didn't say we would do it.

Bookies now have us at 4/1 to get 4th. That's not a very outside chance.

Because we are all talking about Arsenal losing to City next week, which would mean that they would go into every remaining game as favourites, or evens for a draw. We would still play City, United and Arsenal, as well as Southampton away, amongst others. Anyone thinking we will finish on above 75 points is being unrealistic imo.

TL;DR: Everton always lets us down, same this time, Arsenal are still a little bit good.

They were massive favourites tonight...

If we didn't think we could do it what's the point.. We have a chance and let's enjoy it.. We are on a great run and it's possible. They are favourites but let's all get behind the team and if it happens great if not we will have Europa league.

It's not on, yet.

We need Arsenal to slip up again this weekend and for Everton to once again travel away from home and gain a victory.

We then need to beat Arsenal at Goodison. If all of that happened, it would be on.

We would then also need to stay ahead of Arsenal.

It's still a really big ask.

Fulham is a grave yard for us we have only won once at craven cottage since the late great Alan Ball scored in a 1-0 win in 1966! If we play like we did tonight we should win but!!!!!! Never dispel our Jinx there last season 3-2 up and lost a goal in the last minute! I feel we should still win though !!!

Yup but the pressure is ALL on Arsenal now mate, no ones giving us a chance really in the media still, and If we do take them watch the way the papers turn to put the pressure on Wenger like they always do, Arsenal don't react well when the chips are down like

We battered them there last season and conceded a last minute equaliser.

We can do this lads, next up fulham, we get the win there and just carry on doing what we are doing we have a chance, we are boss at the moment and keep picking up the points, hitting form at the right time, lets believe, come on blue.

They were massive favourites tonight...

So were we against Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Cardiff, to name a few. I do agree, we have a small chance. If we beat Fulham, Crystal Palace and Arsenal, whilst they get beat convincingly by City (GD) and us, then I'll dare to dream. Right now though I see us bottling this big time.
