TBF it’s a very difficult thing for people to accept, that “their” soldiers might be deliberately committing war crimes as a policy. Millions of Germans didn’t believe that during and after the last war and of course some of the wretches who carried out the atrocities at My Lai received public support even after convictions. Meanwhile those who acted as human beings should in these circumstances were vilified, threatened, had careers, marriages and lives ruined and (in the German case) killed for trying to oppose it.

Once the scales fall from people’s eyes though there is no going back.

IMO both posters know they have dropped a bollock here by refusing to even acknowledge what the rest of the world has seen. They are now in too deep and have to continue to play the 'yeh but hamas'..'yeh but gays..'..'yeh but October 7th..' card on repeat and pretend it somehow excuses the horrific genocide we are witnessing.

I actually feel sorry for them, stuck in this hole with no where to go.
