Probably should have banned Israel teams and their national from uefa competitions like they did with Russia.
The use of "reportedly" also softens the situation here. Macabbi are notoriously racist.

Its not stretch to accept or acknowledge the far right is ingrained in football, be that in Holland UK or indeed Israel. Trouble is those opposed to Israeli armed response would have taken this opportunity to protest in Holland. And also Israeli far right would have seen this as a good opportunity to act out. Western narrative is danger of losing credibility to even the most sympathetic of observers of Israel.

Indeed. Maccabi fans have form for being mugs abroad and generally giving it out. This wasn’t a pogrom and anyone calling it that isn’t worth listening too. This is purely football related and in Maccabi fans what the youth call a case of “chat s**t get banged”. The local Jewish community have nothing to fear.
