It's clear that the ultra-right elements in Netanyahu's government have seized upon this as the chance to implement their preferred policy of driving the Palestinians out. They've co-opted Netanyahu by keeping him in power, thus shielding him from prosecution.
What's happening is more pogrom than Final Solution, in the sense that indiscriminate violence is being used as a tool to make the Gazans desperate enough to leave, and build support for the idea in the West. It's just another proof that, given power, the once oppressed just continue the cycle of oppression.
