From an IDF officer in Gaza…

“ His colleague Lt Col Blich, reflected that, ultimately, the terror of Oct 7 and the war in Gaza may bring a lasting peace. He said it had deeply shocked everyone, Israelis and Palestinians alike.

“My hope is that out of all this tragedy people would come together and rebuild and finish all this,” he said. “Israel is not going anywhere. Jews are not going anywhere. Palestinians are not going anywhere. We need to find a way to coexist, otherwise it’s a nightmare for everyone.

“So hopefully out of this tragedy – and it is a tragedy – what we’ll see is a new Middle East or a new Israel or a new Palestine, whatever you want to call it. Something [positive] like what happened to Europe after the defeat of the Third Reich”.….
They need to get Iran and its proxies out of the area and they have a very frank conversation about Israeli governanance and Palestinian rights.

Why have some pro Ukrainian accounts like Visegrad24 become completely pro Israel? Even Zelenskiy did not reject the resolution like USA and Israel did even tho he is a Jew...Ukr abstained together with vast majority of European nations.

Ukrainians should support Palestine, their causes are similar, just forget about what Putin's reaction is or is not

I see that today in our perfectly normal country, the head of the capital’s police force has been summoned to explain himself to the PM (who is not in his chain of command and who he does not answer) because he is *not* making the law up as he goes along.

Meanwhile, some of those people who bravely stood up against the antisemite Corbyn are demanding troops on the streets to enforce order.

Ukraine did not cross into Russia and murder in a barbarous manner 1,400 Russian men, women, children and babies. Had they done so they would have had no support from the West….

A month or so ago there was some debate on the Ukraine thread about the “OSINT” Twitter accounts and how reliable they were; I think how some (not all) have covered this issue shows they are probably more about PR and influencing than reality.

That Visegrad site though has always been right wing.

Why can you not get around your head that this did not start in the 7th October? Isrsel has been murdering Palestinians for decades and has now murdered over 10,000 in a month

Hamas are a result of Israeli actions

You know all this but it messes up your justifying hatred of certain groups of people

It was a carefully planned attack and designed to cause absolute carnage for Gazans. Hamas knew Bibi would be like a rabid dog off the lead and were banking on what is happening. The destruction brought down upon Gaza has to stop, it is an outrage but no one should try and brush what happened a couple of weeks back under the carpet. Israel has a history to be held accountable for but this horror show is a direct result of Iran's proxy planning to cause what is happening. Iran does not want a peace accord or a two-state solution. Iran does not want the Saudi led plan. Iran and Russia do not want the Israel gas pipe to Europe. Putin has forecast that he would benefit from the issue. Putin is also a, some would argue the key player in gas etc. Ukraine is a transit hub for his gas so he wants control over this. Nord stream another of his supply routes, but that got blown up by 'someone'. You follow things back far enough you'll see the money men pulling the strings.

Let’s just put @peteblue to bed once and for all (until he has a glass of wine at least).

He’s a typical know it all communist university lecturer who was kicked out of a number of teaching jobs. Quite an interesting history having been denied entry into Israel in 2008 for a period of ten years he did the above diatribe in 2009.

From wiki…

”In 1996, Finkelstein published The Rise and Fall of Palestine: A Personal Account of the Intifada Years, which chronicled his visits to the West Bank during the First Intifada. Through personal accounts, he compares the plight of the Palestinians living under occupation with the horrors of the Nazis.[30]

The book was unfavorably reviewed by Joost Hiltermann, who objected to Finkelstein's "abrasiveness, righteous anger, hyperbole, distortions and unwarranted generalizations", and to his generalizations about West Bank Palestinians:

Finkelstein commits the error of assuming that he saw everything there was to see during his trips to the West Bank, and that what he saw represented reality. This leads to absurd observations. He claims, for example, that "many Palestinians are fluent in English" (p. 4), that "many" homes he visited were "equipped with the latest, wide-screen, color models" of television (p. 6), and that "women wore bikinis at the beach" (p. 18).[30]
Hiltermann wrote that while "there is plenty of reason to be anguished about the terrible injustice inflicted upon the Palestinian", Finkelstein's "bludgeoning" style wouldn't reach an audience beyond those already converted.”

I wonder what he said about October 7th……

But what he’s saying is true, that’s what you need to respond to

Some Israeli guys giving him negative reviews is exactly why should consider what he says.

I’d be denied entry into Israel also ffs
