Is Unsie's attitude right for the first team?

Interestingly there was an uncle of one of the youth team players who posted on here for a while, said Unsworth was a proper bully and total opposite to the "Unsssssssy" man of people he was doing when he thought he was going to get the main job full time

He use to pick on Ledson, I know that for a fact.

Member when Joe Royle had to give him advice in the dugout while we were getting thumped? I member.

I think in an ideal world the youth teams would play in a style defined by the club and the first team would play the same way. This would be defined by the director of football. That way when the player moves from u23s to the first team, its the same formation and same style of play. This is the basic principle at Barcelona and and Ajax, but i dont think many clubs do this in the premier league, most of the players that make it from u23s to first team do it because they are so much better than the kids at that level or they go on loan in the championship and prove themselves

The club does the whole youth thing entirely wrong. No one else gives a monkeys about their U23’s, they loan players out at relatively young ages to learn their trade then make a decision later down the line.

What I’ve said previously. In my opinion the best youth teams don’t care if they win.

They’re judged on implementation of style of play, and developing as an individual player.
Exactly. Youth teams shouldn’t be judged on how many titles or youth cups they win, but how many individuals make it through to the first team.
