Is this the Lukaku money?.

I like the way lots are avoiding answering the question to suit there own stance on how good Moshiri has been., personally I'd be very surprised if we sold lukaku and spent all the money this window now but I'm surprised we've spent so much already so what do I know.

No. It's the Lukaku + Barkley + Deulofeu + McCarthy money. It'll rake in about £150M and that'll be the source of our eventual spending.

Anyone really think this club has an owner who's going to deviate from the established model is kidding themselves.

Whys that mate ?

I'm not sure how much I care. To be honest, if Lukaku and Barkley go and we end up with the five we've got plus Giroud, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Rooney and maybe another centre-half or something then it's a gain overall - the squad would be healthier. The issue occurs when the cash isn't re-invested. So yeah, some of it probably will be but not all.

I enjoyed Phil McNulty's Twitter rebuttals to kopites this morning insisting that we were done and dusted now the "Lukaku money" is spent.

He seemed very sure that we would re-invest heavily again if he is sold.

Given what we need already, I don't think Moshiri would have sanctioned such a big layout on Pickford and Keane in particular if that was going to mean funds were tight for further reinforcements up the pitch.

The club are not looking to sell Lukaku and he will be an Everton player next season unless someone agrees to pay our crazy valuation. Barkley will only be sold if he categorically tells the club he doesn't want to sign a new deal. You cannot say we are spending money from their sales when, as put by McNulty: "there is no appetite to sell them."

As for money gained from offloading deadwood like Cleverly, Deulofeu and McGeady and better assets like McCarthy, call it sell to buy all you want but it allows us to meet FFP restrictions and when you're making a profit from dumping Cleverly and bringing in Sandro - it's called good business.

I take no notice to that rat.

See, spending nothing for a few years was all part of the strategy to blow our load big style all in one window and not violate FFP.

Seriously though, I don't think FFP will ever be a problem for us. We will always lose an odd big money player now and again the value of the rest of them will always go up with our concentration on youth.

I'm sure I've read this thread before. In fact I think I've read this thread a few times over the past few weeks.
