Is Our Turgid Football Due To The Sides We Face Early On

We will know a lot more about our squad after these next 4-5 matches. At this point, no one has a clue. I was happy to grind out 3 points against Stoke, and
while our setup was bewildering, it's going to take weeks for Koeman to figure this squad out.

I welcome the younger signings and am happy with Rooney/Schneiderlin/Gana as they are clear upgrades

But also
Williams 31
Schnedierlin 27
Bolasie 27
Rooney 31
Martina 27/28
and main targets
Sigurdsson 27/28
Gana 27

Players sold
Lukaku 23
Stones 21
Deulofeu 23
seemingly Barkley 23

We've aged the squad without clearly improving the first XI.

Gibson - 29
Pienaar - 34
McGeady - 31?

Regardless of that I'll take an aging squad of 27 yr old Bolasies or 31 year old Rooneys any day of the week over a young Conor McAleney Leandro Rodriguez. And a lot of players retain decent market value into their 30's.

Was you not watching that derby? There's poor and then there's bewilderingly incompetent. RonKo has not come close to sinking to those levels.

Mate, that first half Saturday was appalling.

I am a RonKo fan, but lets call a spade a spade here, i'm not up for sugar coating.

Is anyone denying that the first half was less than desired? In fact worse than that? Still better than being 5-0 down to Chelski or rogered by that other lot, the latter happened consistently under other managers. One bad half against Stoke in the first match does not make it a sackable offence.

I don't quite remember saying it was a sackable offence.

My big concern about Saturday was that we have had all pre season to form some sort of team.

We looked lethargic, predictable, static and had players trying to play a system that did not suit them.

Fair play to him for changing it around, but if he hadn't that would of been very alarming.

And yet we won...
Go figure
