Is it time to panic?

No. Just that it is still difficult for some of us to accept we have been long demoted from the list of potential top 6 teams. That might cause some to panic, but not in the traditional sense of being in real danger of a relegation scrap, which we are not. Lower middle group might sum us up I suppose. Maybe Silva cannot change that.

I must be looking at the wrong league table and staring at the wrong stats which show five defeats in six games.

With quarter of the season gone......that is relegation form ergo we are in a “relegation scrap” and no mistake.

That kind of complacency will do for us if we ain’t careful.

Lets wait for tonight . Then we can press the panic button
Edit; apologies for turning into a mini rant.
There's League form and there's Cup form...didn't do Wigan much good did it
One can effect the other, both for good or ill, but in the end...for keeping your eyes on the PL prize...Cup games mean nothing - you're either in the next round or you're not.

5 losses from 6 on the other hand, tell a tale, show a patten, a trend.

A cup loss to the bottom of the league, will not boost confidence for Spurs.

A cup win Vs the bottom of the league, while welcome, will mean nothing when Spurs turn up, because its a one off...Vs ( all due respect) Watford, who, if given the chance for a victory here or Prem Safety?? Would pick what?

They can even turn up for a free hit, because it doesn't matter

The pressure is all on us...but 5 losses out of 6, an Oggy and a dodgy VAR penno show we laugh in the face of pressure don't we
Unless we stick a bagfull on them in AND keep that form going Vs Spurs...apart from being in the next round - not to be sneezed at.
It will mean nothing.

Ooooh all these relegation crackpots. Probably all under 20 with no sense of history.
Au contraire old bean, I was there before Carey took his taxi. I need glasses now but even I can see a trend.
Nobody is saying we WILL get Relegated...if it was certain this early I'd lump my pension on.

Merely that on current form...if Silva doesnt change the 1pt per game thing...we Could.

This cup game - it would be nice to win one - is but a mere side show.
Teams can get to cup finals and still go down, one doesn't preclude the other.

Not sure what the problem is really. It's shaping up to be an exciting season for us. We're in the last 16 (or whatever) of one cup, we have the FA Cup yet to come, and we are 3 points away from being in the bottom three. It's all to play for. No need for panic, just enjoy the rollercoaster ride that is Everton.

No "sense of history"?

This particular over 20 has an acute sense of history and can distinctly remember shedding real tears in the Bullens when we were trailing 2-0 on Wimbledon Day and it looked like we were doomed.

And I remember Gareth Farrelly saving our bacon three years later.

We have been defying gravity during 25 years of total ineptness in the boardroom and that will not continue forever.

We are neither too big nor too good to go down.

And all the "history" in the world will not save us if the current malaise apparent at all levels of the club.....in the boardroom, in the dugout and most worryingly, on the pitch, continues unchecked.

My point exactly - get him in...who else is there.
He isn’t Marco Silva.

That is enough to start with :pint2:
He definitely is not Silva, that is factually accurate. What would your reaction be if someone like he were to come in...

...and nothing changes?

The same table that shows us 3 pts out of 7th? They're equally unlikely.

If that is the only reason you can put forward for keeping Silva then you are not making a convincing case for keeping him.

And let me turn the question round onyou.

What would your reaction be if he is allowed to stay in the job..

...and nothing changes

The same as everyone's, defeated and sad.

If Silva's record this season changes for the better its not a problem
But if it doesn't...and to quote you - nothing changes...then that 7th gap will get bigger every game
But 7th in real terms is nowhere, just another variation on 15th - like you say 3pts - at the moment.

But if Silva's record doesn't change and you do nothing - NOTHING WILL CHANGE.

If required, I propose Bielsa - who do you propose, if required?

We have lost 5 of our last 6 games.

I would suggest the possibility of being relegated or finishing 7th are far from being “equally unlikely”.

One of those possibilities is way more likely than the other......and it ain’t finishing 7th.

(For the record....I do not believe we will be relegated, I am just warning against the sense of complacency that just disregards the appalling start we have made and expects an upturn just as a much less favourable run of fixtures looms in the run up to Christmas)

Man, I really don't know. I just don't. Anyone I would want simply wouldn't come here. I think the best we can hope for who would come is probably someone like Rafael.
