Is a cake stall the answer?

The Ancient Romans were the first to understand the binding properties of eggs. During the Middle Ages, the first custard pies, as we know them, began to appear. Initially, custards were used only as fillings for pies, pastries and tarts.[3] Both Europe and Asia had recipes that contained custards. The word custard is derived from ‘crustade’ which is a tart with a crust. After the 16th century, custards began to be used in individual dishes rather than as a filling in crusts

thanks wiki (y) so if its not in a crust then it cant be a "crustade", nothing to do with the filling.

Well wiki's finally set me right.

Do you ever buy the baked custard tarts, the ones with not much filling but man are they tasty. Baked to perfection with a skin on it. Yummo.

Then you get those overfilled chinese bakery globby ones that taste rubbish. Id sell those at the cake stall. They gotta be cheaper and do the same job and we as Evertonians would expect those ones.

the club should buy greggs, thus ensuring survival as the pastie takes us forward.

now potato cakes could be sold on the cake stall, everyone seems to love the arl spud cake.

Im hearing alot of talk about this Greggs.

I had a great pie today from a little bakery under the Harbour Bridge at Milsons Point. Curry Pie coz they had no potato left, but it was a solid effort.

And I havent entered into the pasty coversations for fear of a flame war but in short

Pastie = Vomski

Youd be happy theyve had buxom pie girls or rollerskates serving there latley.

Or it was some kind of Radio promotion, but still great pies. As for pasties, never liked em. They just dont have the same umf. Too much veg and too much pastry me thinks.
