Trump says Iran will never be allowed a nuclear weapon. But he ripped up a working non-proliferation agreement and has given Iran reason to want a nuclear deterrent again. So what method can he employ to stop them now aside from war?

I think the problem with this analysis is that it is far more logical than Trump is. He is going to not allow the Iranians to get a nuke by saying publicly they won’t be allowed one.

To be expected some willy waving from Trump it's what he is good. Although there are serious consequences to his actions, he will step away from all out war. Nothing else but a continuation of a high handed retreat. Still it's rather quiant that Trump is taking a page out Blair/ Bush book of Middle East diplomacy.

The evidence shows that Iran, with the sanctions lifted, were able to receive resources and assurances from us that it could then mobilise to fund its geopolitical and religious fundamentalist struggles in the Middle East. We may as well have gave them a blank canvas and said paint the darkest, bloodiest and most terrifying picture you can for security. Yes, they didn't develop a nuclear weapon during this time because they were causing even more mischief than they were with that threat in the first place.
Maximum sanctions should be reimposed on Iran as soon as possible. The EU and UK I'm afraid are so out of their depth on this issue. Iran is run as a terrorist state.
