Been waiting on a reply from a Railway application & got a 'we are going through the applicants and will be in touch shortly'.... 3 times they've sent the same email since 3 o'clock.

Went to the assessment day today at 'Crisp Heaven' had 2 interviews, a practical assessment, problem solving team exercise, then some tests (maths etc).
4 of us were there (3 no shows) & turns out that there are 4 positions, so seems that if I didn't flunk any of it or the bloke hated me on sight then I've a good chance of being offered the job.... said I might even find out this evening. They may even deem all 4 of us unsuitable tbh.. we were all from completely different backgrounds, and also different to what we'll be doing.
Decent wedge though but rotating weird shifts.

Said they had a LOT of applicants, so did well to get in the 7 that were going today.

Crisps are free, they are after the tills and I obviousley helped myself. I think you can buy a box of 48 for three quid at their shop.

Canteen did actually look superb,not sure if it's 1 of these tremendous subsidised one's cos didn't buy anything cos they were giving us lunch, which for those that wish to know was a rather good selection of butties & a huge tray of chips....1 indeed looked like it had crisps on it and tbh i was a bit disappointed when it didn't, but the ones I had were tremendously put together and there was a wonderful pickle on 1 of them.
Got the impression that there were a few drinks from their range that folks could just have as they wished as well, there was a big rack with a selection of crisps in the office and everyone seemed to be having them whenever they wished.


Hearing that Monster Munch are 'extruded' was a life changing moment that makes them a bit less appealing tbh.

Listening to LBC radio as an old timer former supervisor - over employment interviews most firms check Facebook to check you out in being honest etc - logical if you think about it - in my day a quick telephone call to your last employer or Referee was harder to do!

Well it's a 'Baked Corn Snack' so isn't technically a crisp, the fact that they used the word "extruded" gave me images of a paste being forced through a die (I may be way off the mark like) into the shape before baking, they didn't take us around the factory so I didn't actually see the production processes.


I know what you mean though, and in the chopped and formed sense that a lot of mech recovered chicken is used then yeah, but mech recovered chicken is more a process that gets all of the bits of chicken off a carcass isn't it ? as in the bits that would go in the bin ? whereas I don't think Monster Munch are made from the crap that would be binned.
