Interim manager?

Interim manager? More short term thinking. That's why we bumble about from one disaster to the next. We need to break the bank to get a quality long-term proven manager in now, it'll work out much cheeper then brining in all these utter no-marks every eighteen mouths or so!

You say it will be cheaper, but elite level managers demand elite level spending.

We simply dont have elite level money available.

Sure we could pay the wages of every single manager in the world, but we couldnt afford their player demands sadly.

Who says we'd need elite level spending money to get Benitez? We need good money sure, but we've spent and wasted big money in recent years.

His demands can't be that sky high anyway mate, he recently worked for over three seasons at Newcastle. We'd 1000% be able to offer him so much more then that and he'd be able to move to his home again.

What the hell has Benitez gotta do with elite level managers?

In my OP I mentioned getting a quality, long-term, proven manager in. You then talked about elite level managers, I don't think we need an "elite level" manager here to be successful. Somebody like Bentiez would comfortably make us better and take us forward in a positive direction.

You mean The championship and the dizzy heights of 14th?

Like he did with Newcastle.

I mean what does he have on his recent CV to suggest hes the manager we need?

You know perfectly well that he joined an already dead in the water Newcastle, took them stright back up and made them a passable premiership side on a budget of a packet of crisps and with one of the worst owners in the league.

Prior to that? Well he got sacked one season into his Real Madrid contract because they sat in the totally unacceptable postion of *gasps on horror* third!

Prior to that he did alright in Italy winning the cup with Napoli.

He won the Europa league with Chelsea prior to that.

I mean all that shows me that he'd ne somewhat of a step up from our last few managers.

Such as Silva who got hired based on a few good mouths ar Watford.

Koeman who got hired based on one decent season at Southampton.

And Martinez who got hired for winning the cup with Wigan (whilst also taking them down BTW).

I'm not saying Benitez is the greatest manager ever or anything but he's so painfully better then anyone we've had in donkeys years that its unbelievable.

he kinda won the cup in Italy and had Napoli doing alright.

BENITEZ IS A WINNER LAD.

Goes to Real Madrid, wins nothing, they win the CL the season before he joins, then win it the next 3 after he leaves

First season at Newcastle, takes them to the Championship
First season back in the Premier League, takes them to 10th
Second season back in the Premier League, takes them to 13th
Goes to China, takes his team to 10th

The fella is a terrible manager.

He might have been good 15 years ago, but not anymore.
