Interesting random stats thread

Interesting stat. With Klaassen starting, and playing more than 45 minutes we have scored in 6 of 6 matches. When Klaassen doesnt play or doesnt get more than 45 minutes, we have scored in 0 of 4 matches.

Ahead of tonight's game:

Everton have only progressed past the third round of the League Cup in two of the past seven seasons.

The Blues have faced Sunderland in the League Cup twice before but have been knocked out on both occasions. Both of those games were at Goodison Park.

Everton have lost only twice against the Black Cats in their last 17 meetings in all competitions at Goodison Park - 12 wins and three draws.

WAIT THERE, But everyone's been telling me he does nothing???????????

Clowns.

We are completing by far the fewest dribbles of any team.
Averaging 4 a game.
Ah you say but we've had a tricky start.
We completed 3 yesterday and the players that did them were Williams, Holgate and Schneiderlin.
No attacking player beat a man all game.
Do dribbles matter?
Well the team with the most is Crystal Palace....but the next 6 on the list are who you would expect.
There seems to be a link between dribbles and shots on goal. We are 2nd bottom of that table too.

Sigs creation to feet woeful.

Ross with Coutinho/Pogba types in the good at both category *sobs*

As I read that table Sigurdsson's total is (v slightly) higher, and his creation to feet is only .06 worse than Ross's was...

Massively geeky stats piece.

Has a very long section on Sigurdsson.

TLDR: Barkley is as good as Sigurdsson at set pieces and far better in open play.
Just read that analysis, very interesting but totally depressing that we have spent all of that money on Sigurdsson. Depressing that Koeman clearly was happy for Barkley to go and wanted Sigurddson. Koeman may of wanted this player above all else but a DOF has to have the authority and the strength to look at the bigger picture and say no i'm not going to sign off that transfer. Looking at those stats and the transfer alternatives then Walsh surely had to do that in this case if he's going to be anything like a decent DOF?

Whether the chances created were for headers or to feet.

Sigurdsson and Bolasie huge outliers in the number of headed chances. Sigs creation to feet woeful.

Playmakers with world class finishers have good asist stats

Yawn

Ross would have the same stats this season as Klaasen and Sigurddson

Right at the bottom of this article is a bit about our squad age profile. Shows that those of us worrying about recent trends in recruitment (too many late-peak players) are right to do so.

This isn't assists, it is expected assists that record the likelihood of the created chance being scored, whether it was or not. So if you pass the ball to a player on the penalty spot with no defenders around you would be credited with 0.8 expected assist (e.g. 80% of all chances created like this have been scored) even if in reality the chance was missed. Likewise passing the ball to someone on the halfway line would only get you 0.001 expected assists as only 1 in a thousand such passes result in goals even if in reality you passed to Messi and he scored.
