at this point, can we even be expected to persevere?

our squad was bare bones from the beginning of the season, and we've now had yakubu vaughan anichebe and saha injured for substantial periods of time, we didn't even have cahill when we started the season, and now we're to go on without arteta. thats not even considering the injuries to osman, pienaar, and fellaini. essentially, we've had to go without, or will have to go without just about any player that has had a substantial offensive impact for the team in either last season or this one.

i believe we can hold out and atleast hold on to 6th, but i honestly couldn't even see any of the sky 4 holding up with this amount of injuries. moyes deserves real credit if we manage to pull off a 6th place finish, as to create enough depth in a squad to withstand this debilitating of a wave of injuries without spending any money is just remarkable.

the good news out of all of this: if we've managed to stay top 6 for most of the season with all these injuries, i can only imagine what we'll be able to accomplish with a fully fit yakubu, saha, arteta, cahill, vaughan, anichebe, osman, pienaar, combining with the likes of our budding stars, and hopefully jo, all playing in front of our all-star defence. it makes me salivate just thinking about it

A lot of ouir players are also playing without a good pre season under their belts.

its a great testiment to the squad how well we have done, with the challenges we have faced.

I think we've got enough depth to finish where we currently are, 6th position. And to be honest, even if we still had Arteta, I still don't think we would win the FA cup or finish in 4th spot. Remember that 6th will probably be enough for Europe anyway. This is by no means the end of the world.

Are you sure Nebb, seems like it. I think our young players have to come in more. Never mind that **** about Moyes protecting tham and bringing them on slowly. That is exactly what he did with Rooney and look what happened then.

I think Rooney was mishandled by Moyes to a degree Robert, but that doesn't excuse moron's later conduct (cnut).

But it does seem that Moyes is coming round to using the young ones. Hopefully we'll see a bit more of them going into the climax of the season (sounds kinky, I know). We'll see, although I reckon the kids will get more time than VDM.
