Thats the point of a squad mate, you can't over saturate the team because a player picks up an injury and is out for 6 weeks; its why you have players who can fill in. Our long term injuries are Gibson, Kone and now, unfortunatley, Oviedo who will miss the majority of the season. The rest our general injuries what most clubs pick up, the strains, the niggles which benches a player for a couple of weeks/month.

The addition of McGeady adds versitality, Stones can cover rightback and centre back, Hibbert is also cover for right back. Barry can slot into left back if ever needed, probably Distin at a push as well with Oviedo now missing the last 16 games if Baines picks up a knock. Central midfield is probably the only place where we would need cover.

It is the ebnch or lack of it that they will struggle with, as will us. The game will be won either in the first 70 minutes or the last 5.

And he sort of has addressed the Gibson issue, just because he hasn't replaced like for like does not mean its not addressed? McGeady in, Mirallas behind the striker and Barkley or Osman can cover midfield alongside Barry/McCarthy. Yes, loosing Oviedo was a horrible blow, but at the end of it he was a squad player to cover Baines.

Your only problem is that you don't like the squad that is on offer (i.e. Osman, Naismith, Hibbert)

I would like us to recall Garbutt and either Junior or Lundstram to give us more options. Not sure on the terms of loans if we can but we don't really want to sign someone for the sake of it. Garbutt I imagine will be on 24 hour recall cos its a rolling monthly loan. The other 2 maybe more complicated as they may have registration issues. Last time I remember an injury crisis like this I think Walter Smith was in charge.

Yep. Garbutt has been recalled.

Due to injuries, we may not feel stronger, but so far this window we have gotten McGeady, Traore, and Garbutt and only lost Oviedo. Coleman will be back and we resigned Baines and rumor is we are close to extending Ross. Feels like we are leaving the window stronger than we entered it to me... just sucks that lots of our "niggles" are hitting right at this crucial game.

Junior isn't even getting a game for Vitesse, no point in bringing him back.
