Branthwaite isnt going anywhere. He wouldnt have committed to us if he had really itchy feet. Got a couple of seasons in him for us at least.

I assume it's a common thing now - a club doesn't want a player to leave, but appreciates that they will probably want to compete for trophies and play in European competition. The player agrees to sign a bigger contract (and therefore a bigger transfer fee) in exchange for the club not standing in their way a year or two down the line.

Additionally, a large part of a sale would be that we need the money. That doesn't change no matter how committed every single player is.

Wow......are we now looking at an extra 9 points to come off? I must admit I can't be bothered to read too much about it as I did that before and 99% of the predictions were wrong. 10pts for failing P&S again - if we're being punished for the same offence twice (along, presumably with Forest and maybe even Wolves) the PL will lose whatever strands of credibility remain.

Now the 'formula' (ha!) is in place - albeit a bent one which was introduced halfway through.

Sensible thing to do is an amnesty. P&S with a standard formula starts properly in 24/25, stadiums 100% not included in losses, margin of error increased to £125m to account for inflation over the past 10 years.

Never know. Losing 19 pts in a season might open the door for the Man Utd arabs to buy us instead.... we're not the ones in 1bn of debt after all.

I'm not certain it does - we are 4 points clear currently. We'd only need to better the bottom 3's total by 5 points from now to stay up
