Only just read this, dare I say it again, but the wheels are in full motion with this.
The points in this letter are:
1) No sanction policy existed before the allegations were made. It was created during the process and therefore unfair. (As far as I know it the 20 clubs have to vote in favour or not of such new rules or regulations, such as the more recent can you take players from feeder clubs).
2) The EFL has this rule and structure, but the Premier League does not, therefore why are Everton being hit with a sanction for a rule that doesn’t/didn’t exist.
3) The whole process hasn’t been fair due to the timing in which it has taken place. The Premier League is currently under scrutiny and there has been talks of an outside regulator. If documents where to appear which show Everton have been used to prove the Premier League can still govern their own league and therefore no independent regulator is needed, this will actually show the opposite. It will show Everton have been used as a pawn.
It will be interesting if Everton find any documentation which suggests this.
4) Null and void. Andy makes a good point of basically saying the process has been poor and therefore it should be null and void. I just hope Everton have gone to the highest lawyer in the land to get this put right.
All in all I think after yesterday’s result we need our points back. It’s an unfair advantage to those around us. If anything IMO I feel give us our points back and let us start on minus ten next season. At least it’s then a level playing field and we know what we have to do.
