IN HIS PRIME WHICH PLAYER?

Paul Gascoigne - unquestionably. The best player I've ever seen live including Zidane. We could've won things with him in the team. Virtually won the FA Cup for a poor Spurs team.

One of my fav players of all time was Stuart mcall.... Not a popular choice I agree but he was absolute quality in my eyes and we sold him too soon.

The most gutted ive ever been about a player leaving...far better players have left Everton but for some reason when I was 8 years old I thought Stuart McCall walked on water.

How about this for an XI in their prime.

Pat Jennings

Mike Pejic
Colin Todd
Richard Gough
Kenny Sansom

Andre Kanchelskis
Paul Gascoigne
Bruce Rioch
David Ginola

Samuel Eto'o
Mark Hughes

Subs: Nigel Martyn, Gary Ablett, Terry Phelan, Anders Limpar, Andy Gray, Asa Hartford, Peter Beardsley

I haven't counted players who reached their prime after leaving us, like Rooney or Matterazzi.....nor the likes of Lineker who despite doing great things after leaving us was very much in his prime when at Goodison.
Nailed it apart from Ablett and Phelan.

Tommy Lawton who missed the war years would walk into the team ahead of Phelan.

Is Bobby Collins a debatable one?

Richard Gough, he was a rock when he came in obviously but we'd have never got into the trouble we did with him at the back before that.

Bobby is a good call, Coach....I forgot about Bobby.

Tony Kay from that era as well.....what a player Tony would have been if we had ever had the best of him.

Peter Beardsley. Just head and shoulders above the rest of our team in the early 90s.if ross had beardsleys football brain hed be a world class player
