My niece ruptured her ACL (admittedly, not a full tear) a few months ago and that's exactly what they did. A leg brace where they set the angle of the knee bend, some crutches and on her way.

I know nothing about injuries of this type but I do know that even for minor injuries players legs are put in a boot or in this case a brace. It is standard procedure.
We simply have to wait and see what the injury is.
We may get some indication from David Moyes tomorrow but it may be too early for a definite diagnosis.
