If you were a Bright Young Thing...

.....by the time you are that age you will be on a professional contract. If you are that good to be in demand by top clubs (such as Rooney) then I suggest allegiance doesn't come into it. You will make a choice based on which club attracts you the most from a playing perspective. Money is a major consideration as is the Manager, location, quality of life etc.

Here's the thing, I reckon most fans on here, and fans of other clubs would, if they had the chance, play for their own Club that they've supported since childhood rather than any other in the land, and would never want to move (they're gonna be multi-millionaires by the time they're done whoever they play for)

But pro footballers who you have to assume are at least as much 'into' football and their club as fans before they made it as pros, somehow, seem to discard their love for the club and are willing to go anywhere. I understand it's a job for them but I can't understand how people can quickly turn from love of their club to being so dispassionate about it

Pretty sure we'd all want to go down as 1 Club men for Everton --- on a ten year career as a Premier League footballer, you're gonna be absolutely minted even if you're club was only as West Brom or Swansea

....whilst I understand where you are coming from I'm afraid the reality is much different. Being a fan of a club is far different to being an employee, the romanticism goes and like any other job folk fall out with their boss or colleagues, they are not happy with being overlooked or they get offers and higher pay elsewhere. Unlike in yesteryear the odds are very much stacked in a players favour, especially if you are decent and in demand.

Perth Glory.
If the pay is the same regardless of where I play, then I may as well llive somewhere with a bit of sunshine and beaches

depends if i planned to play or not.

If i didnt want to play that much then chelsea right now, coached under mourhinio's coaching team would be fantastic.

I suppose the other option is arsenal. Chances to impress and again fantastic coaching for young players.
