Bristol Rovers. I adopted them when I did the '92 Club' in the late 80s/early 90s and wanted a team to follow to lower division grounds. Great fans, also in the shadow of obnoxious red neighbours. Still my second team.

Surely you would have joined us in Turners Cross on a Friday evening to witness the climb then fall then climb (rinse and repeat) of the mighty Cork City FC?
Corks most recent trophy success was in soccer, and i'd say the next major Cork trophy victory will be in soccer as well. We haven't won the hurling all Ireland in nearly twenty years, and it's been over a decade since our most recent football all Ireland win as well.

It's hard to adequately fund the preparation of the intercounty teams in GAA, when despite having Ed Sheeran concerts and Munster rugby matches, the debt for the redeveloped Pairc Ui Chaoimh is still running at well over thirty million euros.

Technically i grew up closest to St Colmans Park, so Cobh Ramblers would actually be my nearest local league of Ireland team.
I have been known to wonder down to Colemans Park on an odd occasion tbh.
Haven't wondered to a gaa game in a long long time though and don't think I will ever go back now tbh. It's Cork City, Everton and real football that are my only vices now
