Great game and indeed he did have a shot on target before the goal, but I think @Rugby Toffee's point is that his shooting is somewhat wayward.

On numerous occasions last season he had a strong opportunity to score either through on goal or at a distance and many were wasted.

He's a brilliant player who offers so much to the team but shooting isn't his strong point - if he could add it then he'd get a fair few goals.

He gets himself into some good spots to have a shot at goal too.

I think it depends on the game to be honest. Against Stoke or a top 7 team then I'd 100% agree. I prefer him when he's a little further up the pitch myself. He has the energy to get back but I don't think he gets enough credit sometimes for his attacking play. At times his energy is used going the other way and you can see the opposition curry it. It's not his out and out pace it's that he keeps coming, straight at you, he doesn't stop. I think Pickford has to be 1st on the team sheet just because of the quality of his competition. The way Gana goes forward reminds me a lot of how Essian did without the sheer power of Essian
