He can't move the ball forwards effectively enough to be compared to kante.

Midway though last season teams found him out & started to just let him have the ball.

Against Brighton the sky cameras picked up chris Hughton screaming let him have it. I suppose it's all about balance & whilst he plays with Schneiderlin his frailties are clearly exposed.

I'm not sold on his positional discipline either but you could argue it's his job to recover possession & its not his role to cover the hole it leaves behind.

Can anyone move the ball forward efficiently in our team?

Our lack of movement kills us. He is nowhere near as bad as some make out passing wise. He is a good footballer.

The video above he shows that he is a good footballer. Big difference for him this season is that he's not had the likes of Lukaku and Barkley ahead of him down the middle, and Coleman and Bolasie on the wing.

He's always looked better when his job was to break up play and unsettle the oppositions rhythm, which he done first half the other day and what he done mostly for last season. He was being being asked to be the link of play between midfield and forward earlier this season, and be more creative, which should be Schneiderlin's role.
As long as he sticks to his main job and we get someone else to do the creative side we will look better.

in regards to gueye, is he not? other than Kante who was better last season in his position?
I don't mean to be rude but, I can't think of anyone that isn't better than him. He wins the ball quite a lot and doesn't do anything
progressive with it, he then passes back to Jags or Williams, or even worse to Keane, he certainly hasn't been helped by the right
backs alongside.

A class act this lad, covers an awful lot of ground and is crucial to our chances of improvement moving forward.

Top player, well done Blues & Idrissa.

For some reason he seems best when he has the defensive midfielder role for himself. When he's playing with Schneiderlin he seems a bit lost.

Frightningly over rated by his fan boys, we've played over best football when he hasn't been there

Guess we'll see how he fares in a lone role. Hasn't quite got Schneiderlin's ability on the ball so it will be interesting to see. That said if our midfield 3 consists of him, Davies and someone like Rooney/Sig or Barkley when he comes back then I think we'll have a good balance.

he doesn't have the discipline to play it, ozil and ramsey were the wrong side of him about 9 times, then he gets himself sent off for a slidey in their half, he's great at what he does, but what he does is very very limited, and requires him to be in a midfield 3, he may well play the role mcCarthy played on weds, that would suit him, but this wonderful world beater, not for me, top class midfielders aren't better without the ball

He's been good for us Gueye but the last thing you want when the opposition are on the counter is for your defensive mid to be mis timing a slide tackle on the half way line.
