I put my neck out when we signed him and said, if you watched his Villa performances, he'd be the best signing we made all year.

He was only beaten by Kante in terms of defensive midfielder stats last year and his tenacity is second to none.

I hope he continues to meet my expectations. Chuffed that he has hit the ground running.

Hope I don't end up with egg on my face come the end of the season, but I think he'll be a stunning purchase personally.

He was excellent today. We saw what he can give us defensively and, if he reproduces that for the rest of the season he'll have been a bargain buy.

It'll be interesting to see how effective he is when we have more of the ball when we're playing poorer teams than Spurs.
