Looks like our central midfield partnership have met up already, Gueye and Mcarthy

I'm also thinking the Koeman/Walsh axis is working here with Gueye and Williams. You don't have to spend big to get results, as Leicester and Southampton have been proving.
Pelle, Kante at the euros this summer, Tadic destroying for Soton recently, half of Soton moving to LFC or MUFC for daft money, half of LCFC being offered daft money this summer to move.
We shouldn't worry, they know what they're doing.

Koeman wants to play a pressing game.

All preseason he's bemoaned our rubbish pressing.

McCarthy is absolutely naff at pressing, tackling and even covering the back 4.

Walsh comes in, recommendeds Gueye as the Kante style alternative. Presents Koeman with x, y and z reasons and Koeman is happy he's what he needs.

Job should be a good en.

Spot on analysis that.

He'll do a good job. It's an underwhelming signing, but in saying that I simply mean it's a boring but necessary one.

Was more the sheer fume when it was him instead of Alvaro Negredo.

Did anyone actually think it was a one or the other situation? At the time I remember the consensus being apprehensive over the lack of a signing for the first team striker position but that we were all for the most part looking forward to Stones development.
