Yup.
He’s being forced to play as an 8 because Schneiderlin can only play as a 6. It’s why although Davies will drive us crazy with giveaways and poor decisions some games, it’s worth it to have Gana play farther back.
I don’t mind that he creeps up into the final third every now and then as his passing is underrated and he can recover quickly. Morgan is just a complete passenger.
But yes, let him play as a ball winner, let someone else play the box to box or even more of a deep playmaker. That’s what I THINK Silva thinks Schneiderlin can be, and occasionally he can spray the ball wide, but he can’t close on or win the ball from anyone.
I just think yesterday he pushed everyone too high. I know he wanted to jump on those jokers, but it was just too much for his personnel.

Of course, he completed more passes than anyone else on the team and had the highest completion rate of anyone beside Schneiderlin who doesn’t pass it forward and played half the game. But why let facts stand in the way of a characterization.
Needs a good old fashioned booing like Schneiderlein got last year because he's playing just as badly, if not worse.
Sigurdsson doesn't have to wait for the ball to come to him to get involved, he can go and demand the ball, when Schneiderlin or Gana have it, he can go and take it off them, at the end of the day we're always being told he's a quality player, and that's what quality players will do.

He's a number 6 not an 8. He needs an Arteta style player alongside him hopefully Gomes is the this type of player and get a fit soon. He played well alongside Gareth Barry in his first season as he did the tackling and Barry did the passing.
