You might be right but how high was that bar?

I've never got it but recognise some see it different. Others also point out it isn't the first time he's dropped the ball and a goal has resulted since his return. Look, everyone hopes it works out but personally I have real doubts.
The man was second in MOTM voting his first two starts after coming in cold. One bad game highlighted by one poor touch and he’s somehow a massive problem. Stop it.

I think he needs a rest, I can see that Lampard may well feel he needs him against Spurs and possibly Newcastle, but, surely the Palace game is the right time to give Garner his full debut and Let Gueye have some well earned rest during the 'easier' fixtures coming up then.

Obviously at 33 he's not a long-term bet, but we should deffo be trying to unearth his successor whether that ultimately ends up being Onana or not.

Dear lord, he was exactly the same player he was when he came back and had one bad game. Get off whatever you’re on.

You overlooking his part in Southampton's goal too?

Swear to god some players are untouchable to some people. You're going to be severely disappointed if you think 33 year old Gana is going to be the same player he was before he left.

he's not untouchable, he made a couple of mistakes. He looks better than when he left in terms of his passing and general play apart from the United game. Yes he gave the ball away. Nobody is saying he is a superstar but he is better than what we had without a shadow of a doubt.

He's not untouchable.

There's just a massive difference - night and day really - between getting punished for a discrete "mistake" that leads to a goal vs being off the pace for large patches of games. The former comes down sometimes to concentration, sometimes to lack of execution. This is something that can be addressed.

The latter cannot be addressed.

It's clear to those of us who have actually watched him play this year, it's the former
