I'm sure many if you will be disappointed to discover that this thread is not about geology. Maybe it would be gneiss to have one one day.

I'm after your help in me compiling a playlist of classic, iconic rock tracks. Jog my memory please. (Nothing after the horrendous 1980 year plethora of synthetic-only crap thanks.). Young people keep out - you have no taste. 😁

So far I have:

Stairway to heaven (LZ)
Freebird (LS)
Simple man (LS)
Barbara O'Reilly (TW)
Behind blue eyes (TW)
Pinball wizard (TW)
Ziggy Stardust (DB)
Starman (DB)
Rosalyn - the pretty things
All day and all of the night - the kinks
Crossroads - Cream*
*almost anything by Cream

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Warpigs - Black Sabbath
Harvest Moon - Neil Young (not really rock but sniff it Chris)
Child in Time - Deep Purple (even if it is totally ridiculous)
Easy livin - Uriah heep (very funny drinking song)

I prefer this one from the same album JJ. The bass is just so good.

I think pre-80s and excluding 'young' people is harsh. I'd definitely include Soundgarden or Pearl Jam into the classic rock mix 30(ish) years or so on from their 90s heydays.
