We never make a lot of signings early.

And what I mean by "early" is before August.

Look at when we brought Yakubu in last year.

17 years mate.

Last year our first signing was Jagielka on the 2nd july.

We've always brought in someone before the pre season starts.

I'm not talking about all of our business. We need players. Players need time to bond with new team-mates and get used to the surroundings and the way the team works.
 
As long as the majority are bought before Aug 16th it doesnt matter much, i think quite a few clubs are waiting for each other to make moves

Agreed.

You'd like a bit of time to get the new signings to gel with the team and get an adequate amount of preseason in if at all possible.
 
It all hinges on Moyes contract right now. Honestly, if you were a footballer and Moyes came a knocking wouldn't be leary of a manager with one year left on his contract?? Moyes is a hot commodity in his own right these days. Like Mark Hughes, he has taken a struggling club and propelled them to UEFA status (with a CL in there too) on a pretty modest budget. You know there are clubs who'd love to have DM. Hopefully he gets a new contract soon so we can get to trashing the players we do sign!
 
The big question that is absolutely scaring the heck out of me why hasn't Moyes signed already? Why is this dragging out so looooooooooooong?

I have my conclusions what everyone else's.:unsure:

I think there's some who would applaud the board if they sold half the team and asked for patience with youngsters brought in to replace them.

Have they done that?:unsure: Or have they broke the clubs transfer record 3 times in 4 years, got the team into europe and brought 1 of the brightest young managers in the game to the club

Net spending over Moyes period in charge is something like £16M. Yeah, they've really pushed the boat out. That'll explain where all the cash went from SKY + selling off much of the club's assets.

Anyway...what am I replying to you for, you were banned after your comments this morning weren't you? Dont tell me you've been able to re-register again!
