Well, again it wasnt the prettiest, but you see why we were never going to be relegated. The difference in quality is in a game like this, all it takes is 2 classier players(Walcott and Tosun) to single handedly create a goal. Great run, good pass, great finish.

That being said, I think its Jags as it was a solid game defensively. Its also interesting to see Keane playing much better, but its still sad how woeful our midfield is leaving his massive disconnect between defense and attack. So many misplaced passes.

..went for Gueye as he topped off a busy performance with a fine finish. Looked better balanced with Vlasic as he can join in, he can create and he can run with purpose. Both full backs did fine and a very good finish from Tosun. Walcott caused them lots of problems and just looks right.

Chuffed to see us with players in the top third although we often failed to exploit those situations. Saying that, the LB passed to the DM in open play for the 2nd goal. Encouraging.

I think Allardyce is on a suspended sentence and has been told to up the going forward a bit quicker stuff...spot on this comment above

Unless a Manager comes along in the summer that gives Moshiri a rush of blood to the wallet, the contract for pallets of Wrigleys and Bisto for FF will commences again from August and but only for 3 months. Nov. will see another (albeit maybe internal) review.

Interesting note: With this game, in the most recent 5 games not counting Man City, we have conceded 2 goals. Thats also with the much maligned Keane in defense in all 5. Thats pretty good, would average out to 15 goals allowed on the season.

..the problem with having a player like Keane is that we have to defend deep and get defenders and defensive midfielders supporting him. We can be a decent defensive unit but it makes it very difficult to get the ball and players up the other end of the pitch.

One of our better recent performance's. Most players had a decent game.

I went with Walcott as MOTM. He looked lively up front all game, his pace makes a difference and he made the important opener.

Tosun, Gueye, Baines, Coleman, Jagielka, Davies and Niasse all stood out.

Only two games left and much change is needed throughout the club before next season begins.

Torn between Walcott and Gana, Walcott is a level above most of our players, and we actually played Gana in the way that he’s meant to be played.

I’m refusing to get excited over us beating a team who lets face it, are dreadful. They defend worse than us which is truly saying something.
