Regardless of Tim's form right now, Gatorade has now had a stake in two of our players in recent history. It would be great if we could take advantage of this. Can't we shove Seamus at them and say "have at it! everyone loves the Irish!" Or paint a portion of Goodison some Gatorade colors (thinking like an American here, sorry folks). Gatorade & Goodison, Goodison & Gatorade... Any members of their board that have some extra cash lying around....

Pipe dream I know.

No to clarify he is no more prone to being poor or having blunders than any other keeper in the Prem. One of the best keepers in the league and you are certainly in the minority amongst Evertonians and in the wider footballing World in believing otherwise.

Two words..... Go mes

I've read that he'll be playing in the Gold Cup this summer. Every close season it's some kind of tournament (Confederations Cup, World Cup, Copa America). I really think he needs some time off from football.

I rate him, I found Everton thanks to him, and while he single handedly cost us a couple points early this season, he's come on nicely.

Today, against Wigan, he EASILY was the man of the match and if not for him we would have lost that game in embarrassing fashion (giving up 4 or 5 to a relegation side)

He's similar to Distin really. Good when their unorthodox style of play comes off, but always likely to give the opposition a chance with some weird decision/technique. I'd rather have someone who was just consistently good.

Kept us from a cricket score today.

But he does need a rest. Played 42 games this season I think. Add another 40+ from last season and a World cup without a rest....he's not gonna be 100%

He will be, and he'll be starting. He's the USMNT's #1 GK and will be for some time. I'm not worried because honestly, he tends to play even better for the USMNT than Everton - there are some good theories as to why (see earlier in the thread).

First game is June 4th, and ideally (and this is what should happen) if the US makes it to the final (against Mexico - as it should be), he'll be playing 6/4-6/25, but he will have some of those games off and either Hanneman/Yelldell/Guzan will replace him. He'll get a little bit of time off before June 4, and then additional time off following the cup. Back in action for Everton towards the end of July.

Neiler was quick to point out his admittedly woeful calamity for their goal, but after that he made 6 or 7 fine, fine saves, to stop us being hammered by the worst team in the league.

What calamity? He tried to harry N'Zogbia after Baines stood there with his hand up and then was beaten by a top strike! My MOTM today.

Ironically, that was exactly what Neiler predicted too. :)

Haha. Neilsy's good like that.

But I abide by a simple policy of credit and critique where it's due. For example, Baines and Distin are my two favourite players, but even I'll admit they were two of our worst today!

Not for me. Baines and the whole defence let him down then, true, but he didn't keep his cool. He went out into no man's land, and never managed to recover.
