Howard

I don't think terry touched it myself mate which means his presence alone made Tim make a right balls up of the cross, not a good quality in a keeper to be put off by players around you coming in. Surely if you think it was an own goal he was at fault, no?

If I was blaming anyone it's the defence mate, Terry shouldn't of been free, that late in a game in the 6yard box - lazy as was Jags giving away the free. I think if Howard judges it as a direct free kick by Lampard he saves it, but it took me five mins on rewind slow mo to work out did he get a touch. The greatest risk was Terry I think he made the right call, it looked like a cross not a direct shot, I think if he ignores Terry and judges it as a direct shot he saves it - but it was the right call to position himself from a touch by Terry - it was a fluke of a goal.

I don't think it was an own goal, I know it hit him, but it was going in anyway and he made the attempt to save it! I've been one of his biggest critics mate but you have to be fair, I thought he was in great for on Saturday - the goal was a freak.

I don't rate Howard but he's never been bad enough to make replacing him a priority (especially when money is as tight as it is at Everton).

His reflexes are great and his handling is generally good, but if a situation occurs which calls for him to shift his feet and cover some ground he's a sitting duck.

I'd agree that the defence was rubbish and it was a flukey goal but I also feel Tim could have been a lot more confident and went made the ball his before it even reached terry as it was inside his 6 yard box. Thats what i would liked to have seen even taking terry out in the process as any collision would probably resulted in a free kick for us. Fair point about it not being an own goal as it was on target anyway.

Howard gets a hard time IMO from some of our fans on here!

Can't think of many been better than him this this season, lots worse though inc utd's current GK.

He should have wiped terry out going for that ball and he would have prob got the free kick as well. Makes me fume at times.
He needs to be braver and dominate his box especially coming for crosses but all in all a great keeper.
Your right though should have taken terry out.

[quoteknow ilyaletdinov_, post: 2554924, member: 23860"]i think forster, adryan, begovic would all be superior options to have in the side[/quote]

Dont know who adryan is but im sure theres about 20 keepers who could be named who are better than howard.

What does that mean?
Is he actually linked with a move in summer?

Nah, he's signed through 2016. He's been playing well this year, but is getting up there in age.

My point was that he's a beloved figure in the US. The moment Everton decide they're ready to move on, all he has to do is say "I'm coming home!" and all sorts of MLS clubs will be chomping at the bit to have him, if for no other reason than the promotional opportunities.

From memory, we received a fee for Cahil qnd Toronto are also in the MLS and are payibg for defoe.

Is it the club who I pays or the league? How much could we possibly expect for Howard?

Had to laugh today, after another dodgy kick from the Park end, he exchanged "views" with a wag, couldn`t hear what was said, but by the look on Timmys face, it wasn`t complementary :p
