Howard or Mucha?

One thing Mucha is better at than Howard is kicking the ball. His kicks are far more accurate

That's because he doesn't kick the ball the ball long, he's always playing it short, trying to get us to play out from the back. Something that Tim Howard never ever does.

He's not done mucha wrong. I'd keeper him in but Moyes thinks Howard's the real number one so Timmy will be back in action as soon as he's fit.

Was boss the way he flew off the line to stub out that City attempt on goal. Can't imagine Howard doing that, he'd be too busy being stuck to the goal line by glue.

Mucha has a great opportunity to prove himself. I don't think he could take much blame against Wigan and he was fantastic yesterday. A bit punch happy but that might go when he settles in a bit. As said already, if he stays in form it'd be stupid to drop him when Howard returns.

Mucha made some great saves yesterday, but overall he doesn't look confident when kicking or on crosses. A few times yesterday he punched badly when he should have caught the ball or at least cleared it 25 - 30 yards rather than putting the pressure back on us.
Howard is still the better keeper for me.

mucha needs to catch the ball when crossers coming over.

too true, i'm sure that will come with confidence. the good thing is he actually comes for crosses, something which howard never does nor will. at least mucha seems the type who at least has balls to try and command his area.

made himself look big with two good one on one blocks which howard doesn't do and looks to start attacks quickly which is another tick. good to see distin's reaction yesterday with mucha

If Moyes doesn't give Mucha a run then you might as well give up the whole idea of a competitive squad.

We signed Mucha as an international on a pre-contract. He's waiting his turn for years and when he finally gets a couple of games and he works up to putting in a very good performance against the league champions. He deserves a decent run.

Howard has been very shakey of late before his injury.

Competition in any squad is healthy.

Plus I've really taken to the mad bald [Poor language removed]

You could just see it, Howard coming off the line to deny Zabaleta and whoever the second was (Tevez?), starjumping allover the place, all angles askew.

Hey look, he kept a clean sheet and deserves a run. Made some good saves and his positional play was excellent yesterday. I've seen him against Huddersfield and Leyton Orient and he's not had anything to do, but when we've been able to judge him in a competitive game (against the title holders, no less) he did us well proud.

I still think Howard's the better goalie (sorry Neiler), but I can't see the case for dropping Jan Mucha right now.

Thought he did well in general.

Though did anyone notice he seemed afraid to kick out of his hands? Every time he'd drop the ball first. The city players got onto this quite quickly and started closing him down really quickly which almost lead to a couple of mistakes.

Something that was funny though was I was saying to the bloke next to me that I wish Howard tried the quick release throw like Mucha was doing on occasion. After I said that, Distin and Heitinga kept having words with him telling him not to throw it and slow the play down. I can't remember if that was because he gave the ball away, but I'm sure it was before Pienaar got sent off
