ok, i agree but my response reflected the fact that the thread was about the record (mind you it's only a record for the time we've been playing in the prem. - so not exactly all-time). i don't mind if he concedes in each of the remaining league games if his performance at wembley helps us lift the cup.

As someone whos espoused Jaaskalienen over Pete ( Ahem . wabankers !!! ) since hes arrived . Ive got to admit , hes having a decent season . However , he is still garbage at anything from the wings hung under his bar , is still likely to throw one in as he is making a blinding save , and my gripe du jour , he doesnt speak to his fukn defence .
Im not buzzing off him , I just think it precludes him from being Evertons goalie on a long term basis . I cant be it , coz Im cack . He shouldnt coz he cant speak without having three showers first .
Bizzare that he could ever take a record off the Binman , which speaks volumes for his defence , but he has had a good season , was marvellous at Wembley , and I pray that hes among our men-of-the-match on May 30 .
P.S. U.S.A. is , with the exception of , " stand up if you love the blues " , without doubt the worst song/chant weve ever uttered .

it's only a prem record nev set in the 90's when past his peak, howard has a little way to go to match nev's peak seasons in the mid-80's & a long way to go to catch the real record of 21 set by gordon west in 1969/70.

He deserves it....because he has done it. Doesnt put him in Nev's league though, far from it
Martyn is held up as some saviour, he was a good keeper, but joined us 5 years after he should have and when we had a series of utter ****e in goal.
To say he was close to Nev is stupid.
Closest we have had...by a considerable distance. Did join us to late but hardly put a hand wrong while he was here
