I went 3/4 as I hoped we would have shipped quite a few out and brought in players in important positions.
We are threadbare in a number of areas, a couple of injuries and we could be in big trouble.
Our starting 11 May have improved with Williams, Gana and Stek but we have not brought in any strength in depth.
Tomorrow we need to get 3 in.

In a nutshell.

I was hoping to see some investment given the way everyone was going on. It's disappointing but by no means surprising to see no investment at all.

One thing we haven't done, which we used to, was buy a highly regarded youth player.. Ok we got some Coventry lad. As with every window I have wished for an investment in a future star.. A youthful galactico of approach.. So to say. RM did well to get Deulofeu would be closest I can think of. Now I. More interested in seeing our own kids being given a shot to be honest

We've signed 4 players who all improve the first 11. I'm pretty happy. Would like a couple more, but they look good business so far. 7 for me.

Thing is if we have bought 3 (4 with Bolasie) going straight in then we have 3 previously first 11 players now on the bench. that is strength in depth..

it should be noted that the squad finished about 4 places lower than it should of last season due to the lack of a manager, we have moved up about 15-20 levels in terms of a manager and the squad is better. Still be pissed if we don't get another striker.

I feel that if we take away the supposed £100m kitty/war chest that was speculated about but never actually quoted officially, then I'm pleased.

Let's look at the facts shall we?

Stekelenburg - decent looking already

Bolasie - reasonable, no reason to dislike and may bloom under Koeman

Williams - looks assured and solid, with a distinct lack of Cruyff turns in our 6 yard box thankfully

Gana - the absolute business

So for me, the actual deals done have been good.

This. And if it means holding fire and not spending rather than blowing it like half the pem will tomorrow then so be it. Too easy to waste money this day and age. BUT we do need another striker!!

6-7/10. Not too dissatisfied over the quality brought in. Williams and Bolasie will probably stabilise our team/squad. Gueye already looks like one of the deals of the summer and Stekelenburg has surprised me in his first three PL matches.

Together with a better manager in Koeman to replace Martinez it might be enough to get us into the Europa League/top 6 to 8 finish. Looking at the expectations, who were quite frankly sky high, I can't help but feel at bit dissapointed. None of those players brought in, except Gueye will really take us to the next level. Maybe it's all a case of wanting everything a bit too soon, but still, going with the expectations I had I feel a bit underwhelmed.

I'd give it a 6.5, it's been solid but uninspiring really, was hoping for one big signing of intent but that hasn't materialised. Happy with the players we've bought and Gueye in particular looks an inspired signing.

Still, would take a Mata, Kone and another very good player to make me give it a 9/10.

Players in are a definate improvement on players out, except maybe stones but we aren't in a position to use such a luxury player.
All in all I'm happy so far, especially with Gueye who looks a proper bargain.

At a time when drastic changes were needed to shake up a squad that has finished bottom half for two years running, I think the average forum supporter's rating of around 6/10 says it all. So much for a summer "like nothing we've seen before", eh?

Pathetic window.

Let's be honest with ourselves, we were promised a summer spending spree like we'd never seen before. We've actually got a net spend that we have seen all too often.
