This is like doing a movie review before you have seen the ending. Pretty pointless.

Anyway, 6 out of 10. Improved manager, improved first 11, improved squad. I have been impressed with what we have brought in quality wise and value wise, however it still feels slightly underwhelming and hasn't addressed all the areas needed. However the way the window has gone so far points to a busy conclusion for clubs across the board so hopefully the ending is good and bumps my final rating upwards.
Excellent post. Agree with you word for word.

I don't actually think our team is discernibly better tbh. Marginal upgrades possibly, but it's very very early to suggest anything other than that. So that is a disapointment for me.

What we have seen so far, is that we have a massive upgrade as a manager.

7/10 - factoring in Koeman and Walsh and the effect Koeman and his staff have already had on the squad, and the players that we have brought in.

We still need a few more additions - namely a striker as a priority to compete with Rom.

As it stands this squad is good enough to finish top 8. Main issue would be injuries, which is why a few more would go a long way to get us competing for top 6.

I try to stay realistic. Considering how we have performed the last couple of seasons, I don't think we can sign any better players than we have now(with the potential of some arrivals tomorrow). We can say to players that we have the ambition, but we can't forget that how our results have been lately is also a factor and they aren't good enough to convince world class players here. Yet.

Overall I'm happy with it, and like some have said it's a move in the right direction.

I expected a very high profile keeper to be signed. Steklenberg has impressed so far tbf.
We still require a striker and another Central Midfielder to unlock well drilled defences.

Gana and Williams are fantasic additions and Bolasie will be entertaining. Hopefully he can keep up his star performance levels against the RS.

whilst i'm doing my utmost to remain positive about transfers I am concerned not only about the lack of players coming in, in key positions but the lack of deadwood leaving. Niasse & McGeady the obvious two.

Bolasie is a complete and utter waste of money.

We could have filled two positions with that money, I really cannot believe we threw all of our money at him.

We're still waiting for a second striker, still waiting for a long-term goalkeeping solution, still don't have a creative midfielder. Pretty bad all in all.
