Obviously you're the one with 'blinkers'. I didn't comment on the proposal, simply stated that you ought to be less of a drama queen and not omit the details if you wanted an actual discussion.
Nice try.
I see you are missing the salient point. To me, it doesn't matter if it's lived in, rented or whatever. It's their property. It's not a controlled substance or item. The government has no right whatsoever to seize it.

Thanks for that mate, but i'm not missing any of your points.it's obvious how you feel about it by the way you attempted to spin it.
Personally, I can't comment because I don't know the details.

So you're saying you'd back a move to seize private property? It's obvious that you have a disdain for anyone with more money than you, so I already know the answer. Most people grow out of petty jealousy, but you radiate it so well.

Again, you shoot well off the mark at several targets there, perhaps you need to be less emotive.

Oh no matey chum, got you down a tee. Standard class warrior with no opinions of his own but whatever some anti capitalist blogger/journalists writes automatically becomes an infallible truth. Boring, boring, boring.

Standard class warrior with disdain for anyone with more money than you?

I do wonder sometimes if people realise they are on an Everton forum or whether they’re just lost.

I’d like to see people be brave enough to call people “standard class warriors” to their faces on county road.

I think there definitely needs to be more buildings available as short/mid term solutions for homeless people. How to do that, I don't know. Not sure if this idea would work or not, but at least it's being discussed.

Properties bought and deliberately left empty should be used productively or freed up.

There should be no homeless people in the U.K. as we do indeed have lots of empty homes, far far more than needed to House homeless people. If councils wish to buy them then fair enough, spend the £1Bn or so and help to resolve the many issues of why we have homeless people, which is not just related to availability of houses as we seem to be able to find as many as we need for anyone sneaking in from France. But this property is owned, by individuals. It will start off as ‘let’s take the property from these foreigners and oligarchs’, then it’ll be ‘let’s take the property if it’s a holiday home’....... I’ll bet there are far more empty caravans and motor homes than homeless people, I’d also bet there are far more empty hotel rooms, spare rooms etc etc....Where does it end, I’ve got a pork pie in the fridge that I haven’t eaten, seize it and feed the hungry......extreme socialism doesn’t work, it never has, because it always runs out of someone else’s money......

Haha. Gonna beat me up lad? Grow up.

Hahaha, reads like a passage from the Express, but with even less substance. Good work chum.

Like you say, why not caravans as a temporary measure? However the there's no justification for whinnying on about your precious pork pie.

Pork pies have been taken here though:

Carillion "wriggled out" of payments into its company pension schemes as its troubles grew, while it carried on paying shareholder dividends and bosses' bonuses, say MPs.

The Work and Pensions select committee is questioning the way pension investments were managed at the collapsed outsourcing giant.

The schemes overall are in deficit.

But last year contributions to the pension funds were deferred until 2019, to help shore up the firm's finances.

The committee has published a letter from Robin Ellison, chairman of trustees of Carillion's DB Pension Scheme, giving an account of the last few years and suggesting they have been left with a funding shortfall of around £990m.

The letter shows that pension trustees were "kept in the dark" about the state of Carillion's finances until late last year, the committee argues, and that dividends and bonuses were paid out at the expense of pension fund contributions.

The select committee's chair, Frank Field said: "It's clear that Carillion has been trying to wriggle out of its obligations to its pensioners for the last 10 years."

Mr Ellison will appear in person to answer questions from committee members later this week as pressure grows on those involved to explain why the pension funds' shortfall was allowed to widen sharply as the company's difficulties worsened.”

You're right, homelessness isn't just down to lack of homes. It's more because of the measures your party have implemented in the last 8 years which has seen homelessness rise in each of these years, the 'universal credit' sham being a large part of it.

I don't think Corbyn's proposal would work, however, I'm glad the Labour Party are talking about solutions.

Started 10 years ago? So under Labour then? Does that not suggest that financial mismanagement happens regardless of whatever government is in power?

In respect of Carillion, it was of course set up just after Tony Blair came to power, and grew and grew because of his Governments patronage. In respect of the pensions and financial probity of the company, I believe that people should be held accountable and if any law was broken then in-prisoned.........

I too am pleased that the issue of homelessness is being raised, its a national disgrace, but it deserves better than knee jerk headline grabbing idiot suggestions, otherwise it just comes across as yet more party political point scoring..........
