Do you think we could beat the shyte at Wembley,I for one don't,it's just our luck that their waiting to rub our noses in it yet again, when we're so close to silverware, that's Everton that
It hasn't always been like that. The times they are a changin'.

Pfffft!

Have you ever witnessed a trophy win? If you haven't you'll be eating those words if/when it happens. It's what it's all about. Silverware.
No I won't.

I'm not gonna get overly excited about some 3-handled pisspot that even swansea & bradford can contest in a final...We're not even there yet, so don't count yer chickens.

Concentrate on the final if we get there, sure. But there's other, more important work to be done elsewhere.

We are not in the final yet and have a very difficult game at their place They will give it a go. But haven't kept a clean sheet at the Etihad since August. Getting to the final is well doable.

We shouldn't fear playing anyone in the final. I'm sure Martinez and the players don't. A trophy will get that particular monkey off our backs and show as Southall said, that we are winners'. Sounds fine by me three handles or two.

We will beat them mate

Our days of fearing sides are gone

I think we should treat every game in January as a Cup final

January is a month that could shape our whole season

Just go for everything, as everything is a priority

The season was always dead. No chance of a CL spot and the rest of the places below it dont matter.

Until we get major investment we have to remain in and about midtable to retain our status and players, but throw absolutely everything at the two domestic cups. That's the way this season is heading and I'm happy with that.

Unlike you Dave I will not throw the towel in just yet and I am surprised that you have. Laughing at this because it seems I have more faith in RM than you, now that's a turn up for the books.

If we could put a run together which is not impossible then a climb up to 5th could well be on, I would not write off the league as you are doing.

Agreed, but had we done better and been in a whu, palace or even leicester position, then talk of the title wouldn't be such pie in the sky - a CL place most definitely.

As it is, our work's cut out for a europa at the moment. Still think we should concentrate our efforts to the league & see what the cups bring.

For me we give a go at everything, not giving up yet. Am not harking back to previous results or season and thinking what might have been. Pointless exercise that is.

Screw this.

We concentrate on the league and we concentrate on on the semi final.

Every game is a cup final now.

I think guys are being too quick to write off the chances of a top four finish.

We know what this team is capable off going forward.

It is spectacular, expansive, awesome football of a kind we haven't witnessed here in decades.

Home or away, we are capable of blowing any team in England away.

If that back door can be kept shut, and the signs against Spurs and City in the last two games are that it most certainly can be, then there is nowt to stop us going on a ten or eleven unbeaten run with six or seven wins amongst them.

That happens, we will be well up there in the CL mix.

Top four.......League and F.A. Cup double ;)

It is proper on :celebrate:

It sounds like you'd rather we won the '7th place pat on the head no mark cup'.

I can see what you mean though: winning a trophy after beating City over two legs and then Liverpool/Stoke in the final would be completely worthless - a footnote in Everton's trophy history.

*looks at Everton's history - nope*.

If we get beat in the league at Citeh & then at Chelski, Swansea at home will be a six pointer at the foot !!
The league is an irrelevancy until/if we get to Wembley in the LC.

All eggs in the cup(s) basket now.

A trophy for this club would be a massive boost on and off the field and provide the launch pad for our future.

I'd rest Barkley and Lukaku for Saturday and City away. Ideally, we should look to set up differently for the league game so we don't show our hand too early for the second leg. Martinez can always try Deulofeu in Barkleys position and put Mirallas or Lennon out wide, which may be a bit of a risk/luxury. Having a fit first 11 for the 2nd leg has to be priority.
