How long do we stick with Jelavic???

At this moment in time i would play big Vic, he looks sharp and i always feel he will score goals.

TBH Jelly looked better playing alongside Victor - so fo me Osman Or Gibson would have to be rested with Feli playing back in midfield - Gibson is not performing for me & Osman is only performing in phases i.e. he looks very tired!

Can someone gif their godawful interplay in the game against norwich where Moyes played them together up top and they kept missing each other with five yard passes?

I want to save it and use it as an all purpose reply whenever this argument is made. Thanks.

So you don't think they deserve a second chance? The fact they'd apparently played together very effectively up in haggis land previously doesn't count for anything?

It's just that two minutes after posting the above comment you went to town on how Velios deserved more than a single 90 minutes before being judged?

Actually to be honest I'm not sure which Norwich game you're referring to?

The recent defeat at Carrow Road had the two on the pitch for 78 minutes until Jelavic was subbed. At the time we were winning 1-0 before getting mugged in injury time.

In the 1-1 draw at Goodison in November they were both on the pitch before Naismith was subbed at 90 minutes for Velios. I can't be certain but I think that it was immediately after Norwich scored their ridiculously late equaliser in injury time. And for what it's worth and as best as I can work out - in that match - Naismith was given the 'Man of the Match' award.

So overall I think you're being a bit harsh there mate!

It was the home game. Fellaini was out so we played Naismith up top with Jelavic. Naismith wasn't awful, but their interplay was. I've literally never seen two players miss each other with simple passes more often.

Given that was meant to be an effective partnership, it's worrying.

You must be on crack mate. Never mind the Fellaini media hype, I personally think Gibson has probably been our best player this season after Baines.

He took a while to get back from his injury, I think. It's only the last two games he's looked like the player he was. Against Man u and the like a month ago he wasn't himself.

Mind on his day, spurs at home comes to mind, the lad's superb.

Gibson, along with the likes of Baines, Jagielka, Coleman, Pienaar, Mirallas and Fellaini are the genuine top Premiership class players we have. At a push I'd include Osman and Jellavic certainly of last year.

Reminds me of the timmy cahill situation in the later stages of his career with us. We always hoped for that one goal that would help him regain his form.

Sorry but I think they are poles apart. Jellavic has class and skill in abundance. Cahill made the most of what he had but the pace of the game clearly caught up with him.

Cahill is 100x the player Jelavic was, is and ever will be. Insult to compare the two

Ha Ha are you serious? Jelavic is class and with a boost of confidence could easily be a top top player. I had a lot of time for Cahill but he was a workhorse. A lower league player that made the absolute most of his talents. He gave everything for the cause and I admired him for that but it's not surprising no teams ever came in for him. He'd found his home at Goodison and we were all the better for it.

What class and skill is this? The skill he had of finding space and putting the ball away has deserted him for an age now. I don't see what class and other skills he pocesses. His passing is poor his falling over is ridiculously poor and that penalty attempt against Reading was cringeworthy. I hope this class and skill comes out on show soon because the way he has been for months is basically a waste of space. He looks an awful player at the mo

We've been playing it game in, game out for about six years now.

Not with 2 outright strikers though, its always been one striker up front and a midfield headerer to knock it down (Cahill) or now we have Fellaini to chest it down and start play.
4-4-2 is having 2 strikers working for each other. We've tried it a few times this season with Jelavic and Anichebe and been massacred every time.
