How do you solve a problem like Arteta

What exactly did who do badly today? He's clearly still regaining his form, but the last two performances have been solid, on and off the ball, much better in general really.

It might be the balance with Fellaini mate. Now, I'm not tactically astute like your fine self but I was watching him today and noticed a couple of things. He runs into similar positions as Fellaini when they're both not in possession which leaves the player in possession not a lot of options for feeding the ball into the two most important players on the pitch for dictating our play. Arteta seems to have lost any real attacking intent when on the ball, I'm talking mostly about advancing with the ball and taking players on. I seen him do it once today. He's also not finding the incisive passes like what he used to.

All this is probably related to form and confidence and I'm not suggesting that we sell him but I'd rather see Osman or Rodwell given a couple of games in his position with the hope of jolting him back into form. We miss what he used to be massively.

Theres problems all over the team, and the debate on moyes tactics and gettin the best out of it is questionable this season...

But arteta is meant to be the heartbeat of the side, the creative force. This season i dont think hes been vital and other players like pienaar or osman could do his job better or as good based on his form.
Hes not driving the team. Rightly or wrongly cahill has been. Then imo fellaini or pienaar. A lot of fans think arteta should be that drive.

His assist record is piss poor this season. Hes got 2, and one was hit off a defender. And hes the one that takes corners and freekicks which have been piss poor too

That sentence is just wrong, I think your a bit harsh on Arteta, his last couple of games he has done ok and today was no different. Liverpool was cleary targetting him to stop us playing, everytime he had the ball he had atleast 2 players charging at him, he done his job and thats what was needed today I think.

But bein "okay" when your the highest paid player at the club, the best creative player, most skilled, admired by most prem clubs, isnt good enough when the team has been struggling and lookin for that bit of class.

Not saying it should fall on his shoulders all the time, but so far its fell on cahills shoulders and arteta comes out saying the team should do this and that when hes not been playin well even by his own admission.

Maybe its moyes tactics, maybe its his form, maybe its both. But he is part of a bigger problem as to why the team aint doin that well. Compare him to last season back from injury he was brilliant, this season not so...and his set pieces are rubbish for the most part

Its his form no doubt about it, so while he's regaining his form we should take him out of the team is it? I wonder what that would do to him.

He played well the last 2 games, had an ok game today, and next week he will be awesome, believe.

For the matter his set peices are gash, Bainesy should be on them.

I think that's a good thing, to be honest. Our football is at it's best when we have two players coming towards and ball and looking to take it. We don't do enough of it really, we usually take the direct route, and too many players run towards the goal, not interested in being involved the build up.

I'm not going to pass his form off as excellent or anything like that, it's obvious to me that he's still finding his way back into form, but I don't think this performance is deserving of criticism. It's not like Fellaini was making difficult passes and driving forward with the ball either. They where both neat and tidy and got on the ball similar amount of times.

If you where to ask me if he anywhere near the level he's capable of I'd say no, definitely not, but I've definitely seen improvements in the last two games. Fouldzy summed it up perfectly for me, there where a few occasions where he was twisting, turning and holding onto the ball, looking for options. He managed to do something useful with it most of the time aswell, which wasn't the case a few weeks ago.

Watching him again today, his brain is still fine, he's just lost his little burst of acceleration for some reason. I really hope he is actually working as hard in training as you'd expect he is, he'd better not be carrying a tubby tubbo under there.

The only thing I can think of is to play him on at LW. Or at the very least stick him ahead instead of behind Fellani when we are on defense. Fellani and Distin are good enough in the back that we don't his help defensively.

I kept a careful eye on Arteta yesterday. The amount of times he reverted to his crablike self was shocking in the first half.

Second half he improved and stepped forward out of midfield from time to time but still looked half the player he was in seasons gone by.

After todays pedestrian display by Mikel i was just wondering what peoples thoughts where on how to get him firing on all cylinders again

I know Moyes was quoted as saying "form is temp class is permanent" but how long can he stick with a badly out of form player

pedestrian? lol.
