Never underestimate the crunchie
Thanks for the threadWell with 25% of the season gone, I wondered how Blues would rate out of ten and where and what improvements they think need to be made to improve their score.
I don't normally start threads so be nice
Least the days of a curly wurly as part of our transfer budget are long gone.Better than a twix, worse than a crunchie
Mixed bag. Twixes, Milky ways, Turkish delights, Tim Tims
5/10
Thanks for the thread
But gets me hackles up, these types of polls
Either just do the numbers or the comments, but not both.
Would give it a 5 but wouldn't say poor.
A lot of promise, potential, and more importantly, actual signs of progress.
Improvements?
- Given where I think Silva might be going I think we need a top class anchor rather than 2 DMs, allowing the likes of Gomes and Bernard to play either side of him in a 3 man midfield. For them to dictate the play, with the full backs and wing forwards providing the width and drive.
Take it to the opposition and dictate the play - is what we should be aiming for.
- Unlike many I think Kenny is making strides to becoming a top class PL player and hope to see him playing regularly at Goodison, not somewhere else. I think its important for the soul of the club that there is at least one nailed in, on the pitch which we haven't got the checkbook out for. I think he's got the 'right stuff' and so yes this is positive progress for the team and club.
- Out of Keane, Zouma, Holgate, Mina, Digne, Coleman, Kenny, Baines we are close to having a quality backline squad.
- That we don't have to rely on a combination of Schnederlin, Davies and Gana is another step forward.
- As is Pickford signing for 6 yrs.
- But probably the most significant right now is Silva's approach to attacking football and the quality of new players coming in - the shackles are starting to come off.
The hope is that Silva can sort out the defense to give the players more confidence and allowing them to go for it more.
I have my doubts about Silva based on whether he does enough work on each individual match/opponent; what he does before and during the game to get a result.
Purely going on this seasons performances not enough.
But the is a huge caveat here - if he concentrates too much on each individual match, he is likely to confuse the players, give mixed messages.
The difficult games coming up are going to be very much a learning process.
So results are going to be very much about the fight and belief...and since Sigs goal this is what's impressed me most.
Someone has Sarcasm issuesNew manager, new style, new players............1 out of 10. Why would we spend all that money and not be top of the table. We spent 45m on Richarlison and he has 4 goals.....not enough he should be on at least a goal per game. We never replaced Pickford in the summer which was a big mistake as he is bog average and has an arrogance issue. Siggy does nothing in games, Walcott goes missing all the time yet we allow Lookman to sit on the bench. Our manager relegated Hull City so why should we get crap managers while we had a perfectly good Sam A. Feel sorry for Walsh getting sacked as he helped Leicester win the league yet we go for another Dutch mercenary in Brands. We are in danger of melting away. Bring back Moyes and Kenwright and bin off Moshiri. This new team have had 10 league games to sort out the mess........how bloody long do they need. If we are not top by Christmas I am changing to zero.
Relax Bernie. You come in the thread and say you like it, you then proceed to start with spam and then have the cheek to tell me what i can and can't post in a poll. If you don't like the way it's done, start your own or don't reply but don't be so rude.

Relax Bernie.
Its a point of order.
I dont think polls should be skewed ie have inherent bias in them.
The thread and question were grand.
