Is this a joke?

Mina maybe, as Keane and Zouma are doing well.

Gomes comes in for Davies, who is not ready for Premier League football week in week out.

Davis will be a decent footballer hopefully but currently gives tge ball away too much.gomes could be a decent baller for ys and if given game time could sign a contract. We need a positive passer to gain some control in midfield. Get decent ball to bernard siggy walcott and richy and we can be a match going forward for most teams.

Especially when playing a high line at Leicester. I thought him and Zouma did well, Vardy only got in the one time and Keane did enough to put him off and not foul him, which I thought was gonna happen.

Yep there was not much else keane could do. He stuck with him. Leant into vardy. Put him off. Did well i thought.

Our centre mids have shown that styles can make a partnership greater or less than the sum of its parts. Who is to say that Davies wouldn’t thrive alongside Gomes? Or that Gueye wouldn't be pap playing alongside him?

Davies is part of a winning midfield atm so I’d vote to leave it as is until that stops being the case.

That's a bit premature.

We have won 2 games and he has been suspect in both. (and substituted)

I have found that Keane is getting better each game with a better partner. Last season he looked so nervous but its only 18 months ago he was the next best thing

Davies is also improving but will still need to be played as and when

Just wondering what everyone thinks, I can’t wait to see these guys but things seem to be coming together for the current team. Can they even get in?

The obvious choices for me would be Davies and Keane. Difficult though as Tommy puts so much effort in and Marco seems to like him as captain. Keane is also finally starting to deliver (ish) and Kurt is only on loan so maybe he should drop to the bench if he is leaving to allow us to develop. Long term partnership. I guess the sensible suggestion would be to keep things as they are until someone’s performances drop off and stick them in then?

By patience, and good work in training. Since they cup is now gone, they're waiting for injury (most likely) or a poor run of form by a specific player (likely) for either of these to feature. Silva isn't opposed to restructuring on the fly and changing how he rolls, and he's definitely not decided on any positions yet (except the thinner options, and maybe Digne is cemented; oh, obviously Pickford too), so he might make a tactical change here or there.

Honestly I can see Gana moved for Gomes with Tom Terrific remaining in the midfield; the Captaincy is surely a signal of what Silva intends, and he's clearly got a forward view on this campaign and how he moves forward. Gana is certainly a better player now, but he's limited, and although he's been playing great of late his passing is still a hindrance in what Silva wants to do. It looks like Silva sees Davies as a better overall contributor, and I can see him and Gomes working side by side (I can also see the opposite, but whatever).

It's harder for me to see what happens with the defense, but I think Keane is more likely to falter than Zouma (whether by form or recurrence of injury) and so probably you'll have a Zouma-Mina backline sometime after Christmas. I don't see Silva rushing out to make it happen, but he was quick to get in Digne for Baines, so maybe I'm wrong there.
