Horse Racing

.....so chuffed some of you followed me in over Dineur. I posted this some weeks ago but I don't like advertising my own fancies because they aren't tips. I went with a few mates and they all backed it and we had the forecast between us which paid 99-1.

I only really backed in the last 3 races and had 2 big priced winners. Hope @Barnfred 55 backed Dineur. Great day.
Just like to thank you too, Eggs. I was big on Dineur @ 22's on course on the back of this. Cheers mate.

....genuinely happier that others backed him than me. I'm a big Peter Bowen fan, anything he has at Aintree is worth a look at. Dineur was trained by his brother so I was all over it last year @ 50-1 and he only got caught on the run in by the short priced favourite. Both horses were going again today but I knew Dineur was laid out for the race and as long as he got around he'd be in the mix.

Chuffed for you.

...I am going Matey. Going for a breakfast myself. Not a tip from me but a few of the popular tipsters have gone for Raven's Tower in the Red Rum (Priceswise, Paul Kealy and Ben Linfoot). I think you have to back a few in the Foxhunters, I had Dineur at 50-1 last year so have had to back him again.

The last 3 are the only decent betting races. Just go with what you fancy. I'm in the Queen Mother Stand.

Good luck.
Eggs - quick note to say cheers mate - read your post and did Dineur - it's a tough old race for them amateurs and your reminder about his second place last year made my mind up - favourite was ridiculously short - so owe you a beer. Great feeling to be up after Day 1.

..it's not a tip but I backed Drops of Jupiter at 28-1 in the bumper this morning and it looks like it's getting seriously backed. Noel Fehily is an interesting jockey booking and I watched a few of its races in Ireland yesterday. Somebody must like it.

...I had £5 on Dame Rose on the Tote (paid £16.40 so I had that 5 times). I also had a daft £1 e/w on line @ 25-1 with Hills and I've just found a betting slip £2 e/w Dame Rose @ 25-1 with Betfred. I honestly don't remember doing that yesterday morning.

As you can imagine I had a very good day. Me and 3 mates had the Exacta in the Foxhunters, £99 between us.

Cheers Eggs. You don't really stand to gain anything from posting your picks so it's much appreciated. As it was I had put it in a double with Raven's Tower so won FA, but appreciate the shout on Dineur all the same!

Me too mate. aswell as my 2 big wins I had a couple of each way places so good day in all.

Was out from 10 in the morning until 10 at night. Having paid for my ticket, ale, food, betting and taxis etc, and even giving the missus back £20 she gave me fot a couple of bets she wanted, I came home with £60 more in my pocket than when I went out. I felt like Basil Fawlty in the Dragonfly episode.

Good day though. Sorry to be missing todays action.
