Horse Racing

…..despite my misgivings, the monthly ante-post Yankees actually realised another profit thanks to 48-1 & 87-1 doubles.

I’m not planning to post them this year but I might let folk know if any are looking particularly tasty as the next Festival nears.
@Eggs, I've done very well on your ante-post Yankees and single tips over the years on small ew bets, your Hit Rate is way above some so called experts. Hope you continue to post them mate 👍

My first Yankee in the book for next year ....

Had an email from Skybet this morning. They say they have reviewed my usage and in future are going to ban me from any free bet offers and money back bets. I only use the account for a bit of fun. I deposited £50 when I opened it and currently still have £91 in it. Usually do £1 wins or 50p ew bets. I do occasionally take advantage of the money back bets (but reckon I have lost more than I've won on these) and only ever get the free bets when there's been a televised meeting, like Cheltenham this week. I've probably even lost 90% of those free bets ffs. Coincidentally, I just happen to have had a decent week at Cheltenham, but even that was mainly due to a couple of ew outsiders coming in, one courtesy of Mr Eggs.

So anyway, I'm not happy with them as you can probably tell. and out of principle I'm going to utilise my free bet some time this week then withdraw my balance. Can anybody recommend an alternative site to use in future. Also if anybody can recommend a suitable horse for my £5 free bet this week that would be great. It would be lovely to rub their noses in it a bit. ;)

Look out for who's doing a good joining offer. I got £50 worth of free bets , think it was with bet365 but possibly not

nearly every bookmaker will eventually ban you from their free bet offers if you have take advantage of them regularly and have a winning account.
bookies are a joke for the most part and want everything in their favour.

Why offer them in the first place if they're going to penalise you if you use them. Surely they know all they are doing is pissing you off. I can understand it if you're taking them to the cleaners, but I never overuse the offers and reckon I've lost more than I've won on them. My winnings have usually been pure luck.

TBH I'm 'kin hopeless when it comes to horses and usually go by the horse name rather than it's pedigree. I'm a sucker for anything with "blue" in it. lol

Cheers mate. I'll have a look in a couple of weeks. Ironically I'm travelling up to Merseyside this weekend to go to Bangor on Dee races on Saturday, but my phone doesn't allow me to access gambling sites when using roaming.

i think they use them to try to draw suckers in. all the gambling controls are a nonsense basically forced on them, they still love to get someone hooked.

Aintree tickets (Saturday) came yesterday. Been going for about 30 years but think this is my swan song. At £179 just for a seat it’s getting ridiculous

We're in the Platinum Lounge this year as that's where all our mates go, ridiculous the price of the tickets for me and the missus. By the time you get an outfit boxed and she gets her hair and make up and all that done, you're in for the best part of a grand before you've paid £8 for a pint.

….well done Fred, I take it as a positive when SkyBet restrict an account.

They did it to me years ago but to be fair, I did take their Cheltenham Request a Bets to the cleaners. I like the 33-1 they are currently offering for Captain Teague in the Ballymore (best elsewhere is 16-1). He ran a terrific race in the Champion Bumper & I get the impression Nicholls is starting to like Cheltenham again.

Might be a nice free bet to be sitting on & you lose nothing if he goes elsewhere. I’m on a few Nicholls runners already at fancy prices, Stay Away Fay @ 50-1 for Brown Advisory but I think 16-1 is still reasonable for a Bartlett winner.

I have accounts with most firms but i always like the cash-out options with Bet365, PP & BFSB.

Its called gubbing, they restrict people who dont offer them value.

You arent spending money with them, you offer no value.

They are rats.

I assume they are all each way bets Eggs. I don't think you get that option with the free bets. It's a straight £5 win I think. Unless I've missed something with the previous bets I've done. Anything you fancy running tomorrow or Thursday for a straight win mate.? I won't hold it against you if it loses lol , but I'd chose you over me to pick something that would rub their noses in it.

A couple have mentioned Bet365 and I think my mate has an account with them too, so may opt for them.

Cheers mate anyway.;)

….I tend not to bet e/w this far out, Fred. If the target becomes more certain, there’s always the option of adding a place bet to cover your stake. Hopefully they don’t restrict you putting £5 on even if it’s free.
