This.
I used to a football fool, I'd watch it anywhere, on the box, in the park.
And play, I'd play for anybody, if we didnt have a game I'd go around with kit in my boot asking teams how many you got.
Now I'm too old to do that.
And I only watch Everton but that just pisses me off more often than not

GOT is methadone to proper football heroin...You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometime you find, You get what you need

The real worry for football is that there will be a softening of consumers. We assume most fans are like us. The reality is, most people who watch the PL now are quite fickle customers. Particularly for the top teams. Yes they have a core support base, but they also rely upon a much broader fan base. You go months without games and behaviour patterns change.

Football will never lose it's hardcore, but some of the softer elements may drift away a bit,

Who knows the future of air travel for the fly in rs fan - oh no, say it aint so.

I wonder if people will be reluctant to go back to stadiums at first and then realise it's no longer a decent sport and the crowds will start to dwindle.

Looking at how many people were happy to go to shops, parks, beaches etc when they were explicitly being told to stay at home, I can't imagine that there'll be that many people unwilling to go to a stadium when they're being told it's fine.

Just thinking that people might realise that sitting on a park bench staring into the middle distance with your loved one (s) is cheaper and more rewarding than sitting on a plastic seat surrounded by beery farts while people scream expletives into your ears

I realised that years ago, but for some reason i've never actually done anything about it. Maybe it's the farts that keep me coming back, it's definitely not the football.

I miss the footy myself. I think it's mainly down to how monotonous daily life has become and having nothing to look forward to. We won't be going to Goodison for a long time, not till at least next year I reckon.

I do miss the days out but I'm a bit older and have family now. The tone of my whole week would be set by the result on a Saturday and it's all I would look forward to. I still watch every game on TV or listen on radio but I don't find myself quite so annoyed when we get a bad result. Seems pointless pinning all your hopes of happiness in life on something you can't control and has let you down repeatedly over the years. I appreciate the entertainment now when there is some

I'm really not bothered.

I'm much more excited about Formula 1 returning than the Premier League.

I don't even miss Everton. They haven't been 'Everton' for years, just some squad masquerading in blue.
