We have plenty of spots, now that might change with the departure of Baines and if we are looking to offload Snides and Iceland, that would then bring us down to 7 HG players.
Gibson wont be registered next season, he will be under 21. Dowell I suspect wont be making it here and I would say JJK will probably be sold also.

And here's everyone wondering how we can manage to squeeze in a player 2 just to make up the home grown numbers, the problem should be how to cut down on non home grown players
We can never say for sure the youngster will definitely not make it. 6months ago dcl couldn’t even find himself in a shooting position but now he is our top scorer.
it is perfectly ok to sell at least 2 of our home grown midfielders. We have 7 first team midfielders now and that is just silly when only 2 will play. Unless we have an injury crisis, I doubt we will see any significant game time for 6th and 7th choice. We must sell to free up ffp for a classy right winger.
We'll never really be truly down to 7 HG players in the squad in that way, as the other available slots out of the 25 automatically are taken up by youth players.
The rule is only that we can't have more than 17 non-hg, as only if we had 18 non-hg, would we have only 7 slots for HG.
Yes its not a major issue yet and im sure its something Brands has his eye on.
The problem is nobody knows what happens in a Brexit Premier League.

I believe Scottish, Northern Irish and Welsh players would qualify as they are from countries who are part of the UK
No, only players at an English or Welsh team.
For example Iceland and Snides are homegrown, so was Lukaku, but Bolasie isnt due to him playing in Malta for a year.
