couldn't agree more. I mean, he would probably have picked up 40-50k a week as a minimum if he had signed for Dortmund or us (if we were ever serious about him). At what point does an extra 10-20k a week matter when you already earn 50k? I hope he goes down. It annoys the crap out of me when you players like Adebayor who refuse to sign for clubs because they are only getting offered 90k a week instead of 150k. And all this bull**** about it being a short career. THis is true, but when you are 21-22 years old and getting a minimum of 2m a year in wages and at your peak could on average be getting 60, 70, 80k+ and much more at the biggest clubs, then its a disgrace. Anyway, that's a discussion for another thread. I am glad we niver signed hoillet. He isnt that good and deserves to get relegated

Hoilett this summer's N'Zogbia? I was impressed with the bits of Hoilett I saw on MOTD last season and a few Blackburn fans I spoke to raved about him, however, if this lad is going relatively cheap (compensation package to Blackburn is said to be around the £4-5mil mark I think), you do have to wonder why he ended up at QPR. Fair enough we were suppose to be in for him as well, but obviously only to a point. But where were Liverpool, Spurs, United, even Newcastle & Villa if this lad is such a great acquisition (no great injury record I'm aware of, experience in the top division, young, so no obvious faults there)? While it would have been nice to land him, even if we could have afforded it, I wouldn't have wanted to risk paying him what he asked for and giving him parity with our higher end earners with so little to back it up.

I think that's probably a bit unfair, obviously money is a massive influence (probably too much of a factor if I'm honest) but he gets to live in one of the best cities in the world & another couple of years in the Prem with a club that's clearly ambitious this season with players that are better than surrounded him at Blackburn so if he does well he may be able to pick his own club in the future. QPR since January have brought in green, Cisse, Hoillett , park, fabio (on loan) , Zamora , AJ , onuoha & Nelson so they might not be earth shattering signings but the squad is significantly stronger . Hughes has his faults but a lot of players who play for him seem keen on doing so again , so he must be doing one thing right and although last year was disappointing for them Hughes is never a 'short-term' manager more someone that takes time to develop his 'ideals'. I think we can probably expect qpr to have a better season than last year.

Not really, i just find the faux outrage at a player choosing an employer based on the wages on offer a bit laughable.

And its not just that with Hoilett either, seems that for every player who is vaguely linked with us, when they sign for someone else there's a bookfull of criticisms and abuse that get aimed at the player and the team.

I know we all think Everton are great (mostly) but most players don't.
