Substitutions say Moyes was protecting the 1-0. If Barkley had come on it eould have showed intent to go after the 2nd Heitinga in midfield never

Or maybe Moyes realised we were getting overrun in midfield with two up top so strengthened the centre so we coudl get a hold of the ball allowing our attack minded players to create more chances.

Just because a defensive minded player comes on it doesn't mean it's a defensive substitution.

You yourself have admitted you might not trust Barkley to play further back, and if he simply came on further up he'd have likely seen as little of the ball as Victor was at that point.

Do you not see how stupid that is as we launched much more attacks with Heitinga on the pitch than in the 20 minutes previously?

In your logic having 10 strikers on the pitch would make us the most threatening team in the league going forward, when in reality it would mean that we never touched the ball and were constantly on the defensive.

Your making statements to suit your agenda there. Swopping Barkley for Anichebe wouldnt make us defensively any weaker. Infact it would have bolstered the midfield.

We may not have scored another 7 goals but we would have retained the ball alot better around their box rather than sucking them onto the edge of our box by deploying a centre back as a defensive midfielder.

Who has Moyes brought through. Lets be honest.

Osman: when he first came. But its taken Osman near on 10 years to get to the standard hes at now and I wouldnt say Moyes was part of his youth development. Osman has always been just ok, but in recent times has became a key player.

Rooney: Even with Rooney he only got cameo roles at first when it was evident that he was better than anything we had at the time. Even at the age of 16. I wouldnt say Moyes helped his development either.

Gosling: made a string of appearences but where is he now? The only reason he was used was because we didnt have anything else to back the squad up.

Rodwell: was introduced at a young age to the first team, got lots of starts but stagnated so much everyone said it was good business to let him go.

Lets be honest Moyes hasnt got a good track record with youth. Barkleys talent is evident. Is he going to fall into the Moyes trap though.

Moyes hasnt really brought anyone through and either we have a crap youth system or Moyes just doesnt believe in it and never will. For me its the wrong stance with the financial restraints at the club

Does Fellaini not count as a youngster? 15M for a player who was what, 21-22 is putting faith in youth.

Out of the ones you mentioned they havnt gone on to be anything great (Rooney aside). So what makes you think these youngsters who he hasnt played would be any better?

He does buy youngsters etc but none of them are old enough or good enough to be playing full time just yet. Their time will come. Right now none of them should be displacing the first teamers.

Would it though?

You yourself have admitted that you wouldn't have Barkley in our first XI or have trust him defensively so how much more useful can he have been in midfield?

What's more I'm dealing very much in reality in that Heitinga's introduction to the game allowed us to push on more rather than the rubbish you are peddling about us sitting back once he came on.

All you can call on for evidence of Barkley's quality is hypotheticals and ultimately they mean nothing.

Also learn how to spell 'swapping' and 'you're' mate.

Spelling police. Laughable.

When have I said I wouldnt trust him defensively? Not once said that. Ive said i agree hes made for an attacking role rather than defensive but from what Ive seen I wouldnt say I dont trust him defensively. He done nothing wrong to make me think that.

Hypothetical? Barkleys qualities are there to be seen. Ive seen enough of him to know that hes got the potential to be as good if not better than anything we have right now. The only thing hypothetical is people saying hes not good enough. How would they know? He hasnt been given a real crack of the whip this season. My points always been I want to see more. Opportunities have been there.

Bringing Heitinga on didnt allow us to go after the game! It was a blatant defensive change! if anything it drew Wigan at us because we now had a deeper midfield.

Dont appreciate the spelling insults lad. Its cheap and just makes you look a tit if am honest. Talk football

Glad about this, prefer him as a midfield option to Nev and has threatened to score a few times. If he keeps it up give him another year end of the season.
