I rest my case

If I'm honest I have no problem with Barkley not being in the first 11 with the squad we have fully fit.

Id even say Neville should be infront of him because of his leadership qualities and still being able to mix it up in the middle even though he is a poor option.

For me I only see 4 players who should be infront of Ross: Gibson, Osman, Neville & Fellaini. Ross should be next in line.

Now with Hibbert & Coleman injured and Neville having to play right back & Fellaini also suspended. For me Barkley should have been closer than ever to a starting birth.

So when Gibson was injured rightly so Osman was moved back into the centre and Naismith brought on RM. makes sense and changed the game.

However at 1-0 Wigan started to push on and Moyes made the decision to bring Oviedo on and Heitinga to sit infront of the back four.

This is where I was annoyed. At 1-0 we should be looking for the 2nd not sitting back and hopeing we dont conceded. That change itself was cautious and defensive. I also dont buy Barkley being to inexperienced to come on. He was thrown on against Stoke and has been playing championship football for 3 months.

There lies my problem hes not getting a sniff even when the squad is down to the bones.

If we'd have drawn or lost saturday the whole picture would be different.

But we didnt

Its like me saying "If Barkley came on he could have given away a pen and scored an own goal"

Its nothing like that. Because I havent said Barkley would have won us the game 3-0 or so on. What im saying (which people cant grasp) is that the opportunity for him to play on Wednesday was there snd hes been snubbed again.

The reasons being hes too inexperienced or hes not defensive enough.

Ffs we played Wigan at home and should be slaughtering them. Its not as if we we're playing Utd or City.

Hows he meant to gain experirnce when hes not getting used.

Why should we be slaughtering them ffs, City only managed a 2-0, Arsenal scraped a 1-0, There fighting relegation why do you think we are going to steam roll them?

As for you giving the reasons for him not coming on, How do you know that? What if Moyes doesnt rate him as highly as you do?

Maybe hes just not good enough?

Who knows, everyone seems to wanting him to start games but its not based on anything other than a couple of half decent games in the Championship. If he was good enough currently Moyes would surely be playing him.

Who has Moyes brought through. Lets be honest.

Osman: when he first came. But its taken Osman near on 10 years to get to the standard hes at now and I wouldnt say Moyes was part of his youth development. Osman has always been just ok, but in recent times has became a key player.

Rooney: Even with Rooney he only got cameo roles at first when it was evident that he was better than anything we had at the time. Even at the age of 16. I wouldnt say Moyes helped his development either.

Gosling: made a string of appearences but where is he now? The only reason he was used was because we didnt have anything else to back the squad up.

Rodwell: was introduced at a young age to the first team, got lots of starts but stagnated so much everyone said it was good business to let him go.

Lets be honest Moyes hasnt got a good track record with youth. Barkleys talent is evident. Is he going to fall into the Moyes trap though.

Moyes hasnt really brought anyone through and either we have a crap youth system or Moyes just doesnt believe in it and never will. For me its the wrong stance with the financial restraints at the club

What about Victor

Its obvious that Moyes doesnt rate him or isnt willing to let him loose yet.

The reasons for him not coming on is what others have stated throughout this thread.

What about Victor

Has Victor ever been given the run of the mill though? Granted hes been given opportunities and I like him as a player. But for me I dont think Moyes has always benefited Victor. Playing him out wide etc and only giving him roles when people have been injured.

2007/2008 european tour was a sign Victor was going to be a cracking player. However whether injuries yook their toll or not he was never really given the opportunity to build on that.

Wigan were all over us after we went 1-0 up and the subs made actually allowed us to get a foothold in the game and grab our second, so your point about bringing on Barkley at that point really makes no sense.

They started to go after the game because they where 1-0 down a top 4 side would usually retaliate by going after another to kill the game off.

Nobody can deny the opportunity for Ross to come on was there. But Moyes went defensive to hold a 1-0 lead at home to Wigan.
